200D, 1982  Owner:  Rebecca Sinclair. Kent, England (UK).

We recently participated in the infamous “Plymouth (UK) to Banjul” challenge. This is a charity event, where, after driving the 4000 odd miles down through Europe, Western Sahara, and West Africa, the cars are auctioned in aid of local Gambian charities. I obtained “Priscilla” for the event; little did I know what an absolute gem she would turn out to be. Not only did she cover the miles with no problems, but she was the only car not to get stuck in the desert! Needless to say, I was very sad to see her go. I am currently looking for a replacement – I am hooked on these cars!

“Priscilla” is a 1982 W123 200D. She was bought in Gloucester, UK for £600 and auctioned in The Gambia (for charity) for £1600.

She carried her owners, New Zealanders Rebecca Sinclair and Steve Jordan, all the way from Kent, UK to Banjul, The Gambia, without a fault, including a 3 day desert crossing.
