One Last Cry
We said goodbye to each other and it seems like yesterday.
The many tears that have flowed down my face.
Trying to convience my heart to beat again.
Trying to take my next breath without you.
Time heals or so they say.
I didn't believe that the hurt would ever stop.
It seems as though it was an endless pain.
Friends tried to comfort me but the words just wouldn't touch my heart.
Time passed and the hurt did begin to heal.
I still missed you more than I was willing to admit.
I can't cry for us anymore. Tears won't bring you back to me.
The realization of that our love wasn't meant to be.
So I cried one last time.
