Aloha … A familiar phrase for anyone visiting the islands of Hawaii.
When our daughter, Kelley, moved to Hawaii after graduation from college, I wondered when we might make the journey to visit her. The year 2001 came and went, without planning the trip. I was determined to visit her, during the winter months, so that I might catch a glimpse of humpback whales that frequent the Pacific Waters during this time of year.
In March 2002, William and I made the long flight (15 hours) to Hawaii. Other than viewing the airplane wing during most of the flight, it was pretty uneventful.
Kelley met William and I at the airport with beautiful, aromatic leis. The scent will be a fond and pleasant memory for the remainder of my life.
To say the least, Hawaii is more than I had ever imagined. The gentle breezes soothing, the aqua-turquoise waters serene, and the sunsets spectacular … to say the least. The pictures that follow cannot begin to show the beauty that is waiting for those that have the opportunity to visit.
I hope you enjoy …
