Lasting Memories
By: Robert Nicholson
Out with my friends on a
late Monday night
As we walked through the
door
I seen your smile, out of
fear I walked
To the other side of the
room
And watched my heart fall
right for you
We danced, we laughed, we
even cried and before
The end you gave me hope
inside
And I knew I wanted you for
the
Rest of my life.
The next memory I have is of
our first kiss
I took you to a place that
you would soon forget
We sat and stared as the
sunlight dropped
And the stars came out with
a wish gone up
I looked to you and your
smile I could not hold it back
Then a twinkle in your eye
then our lips met
The third memory I have is
one I shall never forget
As we lay there holding one
another on a blanket I wept
You feed me fruit and told
me things that meant so much
We talked for hours, made
love and then curled up
I sat up watching you as you
slept in my arms knowing
I would die before I’d every
let you meet harm
The forth memory I have was
a wish come true
For everything I have ever
wished for
It was all wrapped up in you
I knew from the first moment
I saw you
That this is what I wanted
to do
As I glazed into your
greenish blue eyes and said
“I DO”
The last memory I have I
shall never forget
It was the memories of your
love and my love for you
The sacrifices we made for
each other I never regret
We were meant to be together
morals or not you
Know it in you heart and I
knew it from the start
This is what hurts so bad is
the fact that I love you
And will till the day I die
I just wish you could love
me too.
