The following poem is dedicated to a very special friend of mine that was killed in a car wreck. Jeremy Stanford, I and everyone who knew you will miss you and we all love you!
Goodbye
Shed a tear cause I'm missin you
I'm alright to smile
I think about you everyday now
Lost in thought about the fun we had
About the time we made Derek mad
Sitting here thinking about you
Makes me wish I could see you
One more time, if only for a minute
Just so my heart could keep you in it
To hear you play the guitar, or to sing GNR
Would fulfill my little heart
Painful is the day you went away
In our hearts you will always stay
I promise I won't cry when we say goodbye
I'll laugh instead and remember the good times
Like the time we square danced in the middle of the road
Or laughed at the part of the song you wrote
Cause nothing lasts forever
And we're all left here in pain
You had a smile that it seemed to me
Reminded me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh as a bright blue sky
You had eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I'ld hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain
Goodbye is something we all hate to say
But maybe one day when it's our time to go
We can join you in the "Paradise City"
