How to Write The Perfect Love Letter

I think I write pretty good. Every letter, every note I have ever given to someone has touched then in some way. I've been greeted with tears, sent thank-you notes for beautiful words, and, the most important of all, told I was sweet. Everyone wants to know how to do it. How do you make an impression in a letter? Well, here goes my attempt to tell you.

1. Always write from your heart! For example, if you write "I'm lonely", tell why you are lonely. "I'm lonely because I miss you", you still need to tell what it is that you miss about that person. I had a guy-friend who in telling me that he missed his wife said, "I miss her chipmunk cheeks." He teased her about them a lot, so it was an intimate detail.

2. Write with a cool ink color and on pretty stationery. Appearance is our first impression, right?

3. When you write, you're obviously thinking of that person, let them know!

4. Put some cologne on the page! It makes it easier to imagine whoever wrote the letter is "speaking" to you if you can smell them. It keeps a letter from being just a bunch of words on paper.

5. Having trouble coming up with ideas? Write a continuous letter! Write a little at one time, a little later!

6. Address the envelope and put a stamp on it before you begin writing the letter. This helps you commit to the challenge!

7. Date the letter.

8. Draw a picture on your letter or write it on the back of a picture!

9. Tell a charming story.

10. Write a few lines of verse! Or you can borrow my poems. They're okay, but it's always better to be original!

Write me....

if you still need help!
