Katie's Poems

"When Angels Cry!"

When someone who was too young too die
Is taken away without a reason why
The angels sing, the angels cry
The tears that fall are not tears at all
But memories that will never die
When angels cry there is no pain
Just a never-ending constant rain
Suffering, there is no more
Just glory and safety to all
When angels cry
The whole world knows
They gather the tears up like
Delicate petals from a rose
The scent from each one destroys all fears
When angels cry
People try to understand
How someone too young could
Be placed under the great Creator's hand
The answer to this question may never be known
When angels cry crystal tears
We glance up and have no fears
For that person who was too young to die
Is now also an angel
Singing their songs of mourning
And crying their tears of memory
Up in the sky

Angel's Walk

Every evening the Angels go for a walk, before they go, they each light a candle. There was one, called Heaven's little Angel, sitting there crying. Why, are you crying? She was asked , because I want to go for a walk with the Angels she replied, Then why do you not go? She was asked, I cannot go until I get my candle to stay lit, and everytime I light it, My Mommy's tears put it out.

Message to Mommy

Mommy, Please don't be so sad, I miss you so much too. It's beautiful here where I am But I worry a lot about you. I sleep with angels watching me, there's only love up here... I'm never lonely or afraid, Cause God's so very near. I walk with Jesus every day He's very kind and loving. Don't worry mom: He holds my hand, When we cross a golden street. I never cry or hurt myself I see Grandpa everyday... I play and laugh and sing a lot and I hear you when you pray. Please mommy, don't be mad at God You see, He loves me, too. And even though you're not with me I'm really still with you.

'MY PRECIOUS CHILD'
My precious child,
Where did you go?
You were right here,
A moment ago.
This is not
What I had in mind;
Too many moments wasted,
We had precious little time.
I had no idea,
That you'd be leaving;
I simply didn't know,
You'd leave me grieving.
Did I tell you enough
How much I love you?
Every chance I had,
Did I kiss and hug you?
I miss your smile,
As well as you tears;
Grateful to have shared them,
Though there were not enough years.
I can't hold you now,
Your body is gone;
Throughout my being,
Your spirit lives on.
Is that the answer?
The question now clear.
I now know where you are,
You are within me, my dear.
I miss what we had,
That part still hurts me;
The part of you that remains,
Will live on for eternity.
Love, Mom

My Precious Little Baby

My precious little baby,
Your face I've never seen.
Your skin I've never touched before,
Nor held you close to me.

You lived inside my body,
But only for a while;
Till Jesus softly whispered,
"Come home my little child."

You must have been a special child;
If God needed you up there,
Because heaven is a better home,
It's beauty can't compare.
So, till I get to heaven,
And see your shining face;
Jesus will take care of you,
And love you in my place.

Yes, Jesus loves His little lambs,
They sit around His throne;
So sit on Jesus' lap dear child--
Till Mommy gets called home

What Makes a Mother
Jennifer Wasik
In memory of Zachery Wasik
1/29/98-1/29/98

I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard him say.

A Mother has a baby
This we know is true.
But God can you be a Mother
When your baby's not with you?

Yes, you can He replied
With confidence in His voice
I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime
And others for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay

I just don't understand this, God
I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared His throat
And then I saw a tear.

I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say

"We go to earth to learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh so much
I got to come straight here.

I feel so lucky to have a Mom
Who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson very quickly
My mommy set me free.

I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow's where I lay.

I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear.
Mommy don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I'm here."

So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are ok
Your babies are here in My home
And this is where they'll stay.

They'll wait for you with Me
Until your lesson is through.
And on the day that you come home
They'll be at the gates for you.

So now you see what makes a Mother
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start.

Through some on earth may not realize you are a Mother,
Until their time is done.
They'll be up here with Me one day
And you know you're the best one!

His Baby Too

Written by Eileen Knight Hagemeister to her son-in-law after his baby girl was born still
It must be very difficult
To be a man in grief,
Since "men don't cry" and "men are strong"
No tears can bring relief.

It must be very difficult
To stand up to the test
And field calls and visitors
So she can get some rest.

They always ask if she's all right
And what she's going through
But seldom take his hand and ask,
"My friend, but how are you?"

He hears her crying in the night
And thinks his heart will break
And dries her tears and comforts her
But "stays strong" for her sake.

It must be very difficult
To start each day anew
And try to be so very brave ~
He lost his baby too. . .
