Weapons: Weapons of Peril (A series of about five weapons, all of which he can materialize out of thin air with a mere thought. Each one is powerful in its own right, and have been used numerous times in battle. His first weapon consists of a ten-foot long staff made of an unknown glasslike substance, which is very durable and nearly unbreakable. The glass appears transparent but is just covered in an odd black coat of something similar to paint, and reflects anything near it. It is rather slick, but Skaarj has adapted to its feel over time. At one end is a curved blade like that of a sickle, but is thinner, and has many jagged blades on the edge. This weapon is his primary choice in battle, but he tends to use another of his weapons equally as much. This weapon is nothing more than an oversized, ten thousand-pound mace with a nice shiny steel surface, which never becomes dirty or rusty or defaced. The massive swinging ball at the end of the chain is covered in inch-thick, ten-inch long steel spikes, each one with small portions sliced out as to make it a bit jagged. These blades, like entire mace, are unbreakable. The third weapon in his array of brutal body bashers is a massive, oversized battleaxe, which is a bit rusty. The blade has slight bloodstains covering it, and an odd symbol of a spiral with an eye in the center. The edge of the blade is jagged and rusty, making sure anything coming in contact will be injured or wounded with a bit more pain that anything he or she had encountered before. The fourth weapon is made up of solid energy. When in his hands, it glows bright white, but when he becomes angry, it transforms to more of a fiery red/orange. An opponent can never wield this weapon, in that it dissolves when Skaarj either forces it to, or its power is dissolved by too much use, which is highly unlikely to happen. It can consume the energy of heat, cold, and solid objects, and can unload powerful projectiles, either setting a target aflame, freezing the target, or doing whatever Skaarj feels its need to do. It is almost six feet long and about an inch wide, and very sharp, capable of instantly slicing through ANY possible object. A spiral of energy is wrapped around Skaarj's hand all the up to the elbow at all times, making it completely impossible to knock from his hands. The fifth and final weapon in his array of killing armaments is a large stone war hammer. The handle is bent out of shape and has many small human skulls embedded into it. The massive head of the hammer has a foot-long spike covered in dried blood. At the other end of the head is an engraved spiral with the shape of a human eye carved into the center of it. These five weapons are all used at about equal time periods, but the order in which they are listed is how much Skaarj chooses to use them, from first being more often than any other, and last being slightly scarce.) Special Maneuvers:
Spectral Brutality (Skaarj's famed maneuver in the battles of the gladiators back in his own dimension, it works rather well in that it doesn't involve the presence of a portal or any other dimensional or plane teleporter. Skaarj begins by raising one arm in front of him at an approximate 45-degree angle with his wrist bent down and his finger tips extended and pointing in the direction of the floor. He brings his other arm behind him at about waist level, bring it around his body as to form a blurred semicircle around one side of his waist. The color of the room shifts to deep azure, and the opponent becomes slightly transparent. The rest of the occupants in the room are gone, back in the physical plane wondering where the hell Skaarj went. The opponent is frozen in time, unable to move or breathe, unknowing of what is about to be done. Skaarj comes out of the stance almost the instant he enters the spectral plane, and bends down, one leg extended behind him and the other bent on front of him with his hand on his knee. He snorts, and smoke plumes erupt from his nose. He growls and charges towards his victim performing a brutal slide-forward uppercut followed by a powerful spinning uppercut kick with one leg extended outward. His victim's transparent form just stands there, unable to move or think, not feeling the pain just yet. Having suffered a broken jaw from the uppercut and a fractured bone in the spine from the uppercut kick, the figure does not show any sign of injury in the spectral plane. Skaarj rams a knee into the figure's belly, cracking several ribs and bruising the sternum, and follows up with a crucial head butt. He shifts back to the physical plane, and the victim is seen staggering around, blood spilling from his/her mouth, which has suffered a crucial broken jaw as well as lost teeth. A large gash in his/her forehead from the lethal head butt dazes him/her, and he/she staggers clumsily around, dazed and dumbfounded, blood spilling from his/her mouth uncontrollably.)
Destructive Entities (Skaarj raises his arms to about shoulder level, elbows bent so that the palms of his hands face his foe. He closes his fingers, but not all the way, tightening up the muscles in his arms. He concentrates, and almost the immediate second he begins concentrating, his arms begin to shake slightly, and bright green and yellow energy particles begin seeping through the walls, ceiling, and floor, consuming his hand in a bright green aura. As enough energy is absorbed, Skaarj raises his arms above his head slowly, a trail of dissolving energy particles streaking behind his moving arms. He suddenly thrusts his fists into the ground, and a loud boom resounds throughout the arena. The energy around his fist instantly disappears as his fists come in contact with the ground, and the opponent looks down at the ground beneath him/her. Looking completely dumbfounded, the opponent suddenly lets out a gasp as he/she is blinded by a huge pillar of solid white light, shifting from green back to white continuously. The only thing seen is an outline of the opponent and the only thing being heard the entire time is the loud screams of the horrified opponent. Moments after, the opponent's screams of terror are drowned out by even shriller screams, ones seemingly from beyond the grave, from the souls of many tortured victims. Blood flies from the pillar once, then dozens of blobs of thick black ooze, then more blood, then more ooze, then finally a thick, muscle-covered object flies out, landing about five feet away. Skaarj stands back up, and the pillar fades. The opponent is revealed as a bloody mess, missing shreds of clothing, as well as an arm, which lies several feet away. Completely deafened and obviously dazed by the severe loss of blood, the foe staggers in place for the next several seconds, then falls out, unconscious.)
Skaarj Fury (Skaarj grabs his foe by the collar of his/her uniform, or by the throat, and brings him/her in, staring into his/her eyes, intimidating him/her. The foe swallows hard, and stares wide-eyed at his/her behemoth of an adversary, thinking what the hell he/she has gotten him/herself into. Skaarj smirks, exposing numerous yellow, jagged teeth, and emits an inhuman, evil cackle. The foe lets out a grunt as Skaarj flings him/her overhead, while still holding onto his/her collar/throat, and rams a knee into his/her groin, applying great pressure, torturing his victim with the extreme pain of a groin squeeze. Skaarj pulls his foe up to his face again, and spats on his/her face, and he/she lets out a scream of pain as Skaarj's acidic saliva begins to eat away at his/her tender skin. Skaarj then pushes off, performing a back flip while remaining to hold his opponent, and lands on his feet. He smashes his free hand into his/her sternum, cracking it, and performs a hook into his/her side, breaking several ribs with the strong impact. The foe continues to grunt in agony with each attack, becoming weak and tired with attempting to break free. The foe's struggling comes to an abrupt halt as Skaarj grabs his/her shoulder with his free hand, and digs his fingernails into his/her skin, pushing them about an inch through the skin. The foe screams in agony, and Skaarj pushes inward harder, puncturing a vein, and then forcefully rips the entire arm off, along with the shoulder all the way up to the base of the neck, taking along with it a length of bone and a mass of arteries and muscle. He throws his foe above his head, and drops the arm onto the ground. He backs up, and readies for a massive punch as he brings one arm behind his head, winds up, and *BAM!*, the foe goes flying backwards nearly eighty feet or through a wall, or numerous walls or pillars, losing his/her air supply momentarily from the crucial impact of the attack.)
Finishing Maneuver: Brutal Dispatch (This particular maneuver does call for the end of the match, and therefore can kill an opponent who has been weakened enough before it has been performed. It is as much a legal maneuver as any other, although it is debatable as to whether it should be performed when the duel master sees fit, or whenever the hell Skaarj feels like it, which has always been the case thus far. Skaarj first waits until his foe has been weakened to minutes away from unconsciousness, and grabs the staggering subject by the throat with one hand, effortlessly lifting him/her about a foot or more off the ground, so that he/she is eye to eye with the behemoth. Skaarj looks down at his own right shoulder, and his foe also looks in that direction. The foe suddenly jerks as pressure is exerted on his/her throat more than before as Skaarj tightens all the muscles in the length of his arm. He doesn't even flinch as the skin in his right shoulder is pushed upwards, and begins straining against the object beneath. He relaxes his muscles for a single moment, and then contracts them again, this time forcing a large cannon-like armament to burst through his shoulder. His skin heals around the cannon, and he relaxes his muscles. The cannon sprouts two small prongs that extend from the front of the cannon to the very back, extending out at just short of a 45-degree angle, and these two prongs release solid white lasers that stretch to the back of the cannon. With a single thought, a rusty steel arrow appears in the cannon's barrel. Unleashing a sudden and forceful jerk on his foe's neck, Skaarj spins around and slams his opponent onto the ground, planting a knee into his/her gut, making it difficult for him/her to breathe. Skaarj whispers something in his native language, and cackles quietly. His foe's eyes widen, though completely unaware of what Skaarj just said, but obviously knows what's going to happen. Without even the time to scream, the arrow planted inside the cannon's barrel unloads with massive force and maximum velocity. It punctures the skin as if it weren't even there, and rips through the center of the chest, just centimeters below the neck, and blood, after several seconds, spurts out. The arrow, completely wedged into the foe's chest and nearly three inches through the ground, will not be removed without causing lethal damage on the foe's part, which is exactly the case as Skaarj lifts his knee up and whips him/her off the ground, the arrow staying implanted in the ground. He proceeds to punish his foe as he.she loses life with the loss of the ability to breathe since his/her vocal cords and trachea were ripped apart by the arrow.)
Fatalities:
Skaarj Brutality [Skaarj rams his middle and ring fingers through his victim's eyes, blood and pus seeping slowly around his fingers. He then shoves his thumb into his victim's mouth as if his/her head were a bowling ball. The victim flails his/her arms wildly, screaming in desperation as blood streams down his/her face. Skaarj rams a knee brutally into the victim's groin, crushing the testicles (if his victim is male), or smashing the vagina through the hips (if the victim is female), blood soaking the crotch area of the victim's clothing. Skaarj shoves his victim onto his/her back, his hand still lodged into his/her face, and with his free hand he raises about his head, the victim moaning and completely unaware below. Skaarj's raised hand soon ignites in transparent, ghostly blue flames that fade to red towards the center, blobs of blue and red slowly drifting towards the ground occasionally. He, after several agonizing moments, rams his fist into the victim's torso, the flames incinerating anything coming in contact with them. Skaarj meanwhile digs his hand around, searching for nothing in particular, and suddenly rips out a satisfying item, or several connecting items, the victim's ribcage bearing several large arteries and veins and blobs of muscle, the heart being one of the major arteries. The victim, gagging and convulsing underneath him, begins choking on blood and slowly dying with the tremendous loss of blood and not to mention the loss of his/her life-giving heart. Skaarj, not quite through, grinds his feet into the floor, tenses his leg muscles, and hops up at an inhuman height, tossing his victim upwards as he ascends. Gravity doing its work as it forces the victim to descend towards earth once again, Skaarj readies for a massive attack, performing a slow-developing back flip, his legs extended one in front of the other. The victim, now in reaching distance, is punished with a brutally powerful double back flip uppercut kick, sending him/her ascending towards the ceiling once again, smacking into it with a tremendous impact. The impact's so forceful that the opponent is literally crushed, leaving only an outline of his/her form in thick, crimson blood with chunks of muscle tissue, bone matter, and internal organs, the rest descending to the ground in a wide shower. Skaarj lifts his arms to shoulder level, allowing the crimson substance and its solid partners (bone and muscle) to coat him in a thin red suit from the sternum up, exposing his true love for the death of an opponent.]
Offering to the Skaarj God (Skaarj raises one arm in front of him at an approximate 45-degree angle with his wrist bent down and his finger tips extended and pointing in the direction of the floor. He brings his other arm behind him at about waist level, bringing it around his body as to form a blurred semicircle around one side of his waist. The color of the room shifts to deep red rather than the usual azure, and the opponent remains solidified, rather than becoming a ghost of his/her former self. He brings his arms in front of him, placing one leg in front of him and sweeping it across the floor as he bends his right elbow and places his large fist into the palm of his other hand. A fog lifts up around the victim, and he/she looks around, dumbfounded. A low humming, resembling the hum a meditating monk, resounds throughout the room, the victim now getting a bit creeped out. The victim attempts a step back, but can't seem to bring a foot off the ground, or even look around anymore for that matter. Skaarj comes out of his trance, and slowly paces towards his immobilized victim. As he comes within inches of the victim he reaches out and grabs him/ger by both shoulders, digging his claws deep into the victim's skin and muscle, blood slowly spurting out. He then forcefully kicks the heel of one foot into the knee of the victim, the bone ripping out the back of the leg, sending bits of muscle and flesh and droplets blood spraying from the compound fracture. He, with the other foot's heel, kicks in the other knee of the victim, the same result taking place. He forces his victim to the ground, and removes one hand from the shoulder of the victim, blood seeping from the small wounds previously inflicted by his claws. He takes that hand and shoves it upwards into the victim's mouth, digging into the roof of the mouth until he is entirely through, and grabs anything in his large fingers' reach, ripping his hand back out with several items, one being a chunk of pus-covered brain matter. The victim's head sways back and forth on its neck until Skaarj shoves his hand into his/her torso, just below the pectorals, and grabs hold of his/her spine, rips it out, and drops it at his/her feet. Skaarj rips his other hand from the victim's shoulder, along with the entire length of the shoulder and that arm's shoulder blade, dropping it at his feet as well. With his victim already dying from loss of blood, Skaarj backs away, and raises his arms above his head, one at an angle above his shoulder, and the other extended vertically above his other shoulder. Suddenly, a shaft of bright blue, nearly white light falls upon the brutalized body of the victim, enveloping him/her. The humming increases in tone, drowning out the final screams of the dying victim, and soon after a blurred blue and white and green figure of the victim ascends towards the sky of the arena, disappearing. The light fades until it is completely gone, revealing an incinerated, lifeless, twitching carcass of the once defeated foe. Skaarj lowers his arms, and bows in respect not to the dead victim, but to his own god, an awesome red glow emitting from his body as he slowly walks away, transparent red outlines of his form trailing behind in the form of the red glow emitting from his own body.)
Story: From another dimension entirely, Skaarj has been lauded one of the most fearful, brutal hunters/pit fighters in all reality. With his intimidating size and appearance, Skaarj has been put up against the best pit fighters in his dimension. Dominating them the moment they stepped up and let their guard down, Skaarj was quickly raised in the ranks of his race to the spot just under the rightful ruler.
During his time as a member of the Hierarchy, Skaarj had numerous bouts with challengers to take his place, most won flawlessly, all ended with the death of his opponent. As all Hierarchy occupants were rewarded with a certain power, Skaarj was given the power to shift from one plane of reality to the next, brutalizing his foe from there. This proved an even greater aspect in his matches to come.
Not only was Skaarj undefeated in his prime, but he was also the most feared of all the Hierarchy brothers, and for good reason. Most of the others were killed in battle in their elder years or assassinated, the victors of the battles or the murderous assassins always becoming the new brother of the Hierarchy, without any questions asked. Skaarj had several assassination attempts, but all were completely and utterly destroyed due to Skaarj's awesome abilities. He never let power go to his head like the others, and never wanted the luxuries he was given. One rule was enforced towards him, however; if he tried to remove himself from the Hierarchy in any manner, he would be killed.
He tried this once, and may have regretted it for the rest of his life.
Tired of all the luxuries and challenges and annoying wealthy Hierarchy members, Skaarj gave up his title as a Hierarchy member to a lesser man, one who was considered to be a great fighter. This man was instantly killed, and left for Skaarj to find in the famed Pit. Skaarj was told he was to have a battle to the death to prove his loyalty towards the Hierarchy, and he accepted. He was not only made a complete fool of himself, he was also forced to fight against members of the Hierarchy itself. This would result in the killing of a fellow Hierarchy brother, and the title as a traitor, if he managed to kill all his opponents. He never once thought of this during his first fight, where he came out the victor instantly, crushing his foe like a grape. His second battle was a bit tougher, ending with the death of his foe in a most unpleasant manner. This third was against three bodyguards and a single member of the Hierarchy, a member feared by all, the leader of the whole Godforsaken charade.
This battle marked the end of the race's era. The leader unleashed all his power in one full attack, annihilating anything and everything within its hundred-mile long radius, killing off the entire race and the land's plants and animals. Skaarj escaped to the spectral plane, unscathed by his leader's devastating attack, and went back to the physical plane when the wave of destruction was out of reach. Skaarj forced his leader to beg for mercy, but he did not. The animal under his grasp gasped for air, and managed an attack that momentarily paralyzed Skaarj, allowing the brutal leader to flee, through a portal to another realm, unknown to the preoccupied Skaarj. Skaarj, extremely pissed, ripped a portal through his dead realm's atmosphere and entered it, unknowing of what was on the other side...
