Misato was born on December 8th, 1986, presumably in Japan. Her father was a scientist who gradually distanced himself from his family, finding that it was easier not to deal with his family than to face it. Misato hated him for that, and when her mother wanted a divorce, she even laughed at him, believing that her father truly deserved what he was getting. Then, in the year 2000 AD, Misato was with her father in Antarctica, on some sort of scientific mission. And then 2nd IMPACT occured. Misato's father risked his life to save hers, putting her into an escape pod and sending her out to sea. The scar under her breasts is her reminder of that sacrifice, and Misato is not sure whether or not she loves her father or hates him. This burden is carried with her for many years.
