John Frasier

John Frasier was born 1838 in Jackson County, Alabama and died 20 May 1864 at an U.S. Hospital Div No 2 in Annapolis, Maryland. He was a son of George and Nancy Ball Frasier. John married Mary Kirkpatrick 2 Aug 1861 in Jackson County, Alabama.

John enlisted in the 1st Tennessee & Alabama Independent Vidette Cavalry Company A 28 Aug 1863 at age 23. He was captured at Hunts Mill in Jackson County, Alabama 28 Aug 1863. He was paroled at Richmond, VA 30 April 1864, and was admitted to Hospital Division #2 in Annapolis Maryland from steamer New York 2 May 1864. He died from Pleura Pneumonia 20 May 1864. He was buried 21 May 1864 in Ash Grove U.S. Cemetery Annapolis, Maryland. When John died his effects consisted on one blouse, one pair of trousers, one pair of shoes, and two pairs of socks. These effects were ordered sold at auction and brought one dollar and ninety-four cents. He was 6 feet tall, had black eyes, black hair, and dark complexion.
