erry Meet and welcome to my "Frequently Asked Questions" page. More often than not, Witchcraft is VERY confusing to people. With this, common misconceptions occur that witches worship the "devil" or do aweful things such as sacrifices. This page is to set those people strait. Also, if YOU have a question that you would like posted that I don't go over, please e-mail it to me Here. I hope that this page helps to "iron-out" the questions and misconceptions on Wicca as well as other denominations of witchcraft.

o Wiccans/Witches worship the devil?

k, this is a VERY common question. The answer is NO! Not only do we not worship the "devil," Wiccans, as well as many others don't even believe that there is a central power that controls all evil. We believe that REAL evil comes from within the person who is doing the evil deed and that the conception of a "devil" was a way of people blaming their mistakes on others.

hat about those pentagrams that you wear?

his, too, is a common question. The pentagram is a star with a circle covering its outside. In a pentagram, there is one point up and two points down. In Wiccan tradition, this represents a person in the Goddess position, (legs apart with your arms in the air), and the circle is to represent a circle of protection covering the person. It also represents the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. This in NO way represents a sign of demonic rituals or a "devil worshipper." Although the pentagram is not just a Wiccan symbol.

o Wiccans/Witches believe in God?

he answer is yes. We do believe in a God and a Goddess. They are the two deities, that when joined, show what true perfection and potent power is. We believe in them as the sole creators of the earth and creatures on it. The deities in Wicca are the two halfs of the "central" power that created everything. So yes, we believe in a God. :o)

o Wiccans to spells?

he answer to that question is yes. We do participate in spells but it may not be the type that you are thinking of. The spells that we do come from using the natural energies of the earth and other things such as candles, colors, and other objects such as herbs to make a wanted change occure. We do NOT get the power for our spells from any "Devil" because, as I said before, we don't believe in one. So therefore, spells are a natural part of nature. They are using nature in positive ways.

o Wiccans do curses/hexes on people?

his is a very common and simple answer. As I said before, yes we do spells. I also said that they were positive. A Wiccan's life is governed by the Wiccan Rede that states, "An harm none, do what ye will." Also, there is the rule of three that states that whatever yous end out, good or bad, you will get it back times three. This would prohibit anyone from putting curses/hexes on anyone because then we would get it back times three.

re Wiccans witches?

es, they are. But if you see that as a person who is creepy and has a big wart on their nose and are evil than you have been watching too much T.V. Any person who practices witchcraft, good or bad, are called witches. Wiccans do practice witchcraft so..yes, we are witches. But, just to clarify, there are also non-wiccan witches as there are many denominations of witchcraft. :o)
