My Special Angel
GUARDIAN ANGEL
Upon your shoulder she sits to watch.
To choose 'tween wrong and right.
Her words you hear them in your head.
Seems loudest in the night.
She's built a guide for you to read.
Of values good and bad.
At times they seem so tough for you,
At times you do feel glad.
Her guidance you do seek and heed.
She overrides your heart
And keeps things safe and out of harm,
You stop before you start.
Her name is angel, conscience, soul.
Means different things to all.
But holds you up and sets a path
And hopes that you don't fall.
If dreams are followed, live them out.
We make the foolish choice.
And then regret the path we took.
Inside the little voice.
Between two friends there is respect
And boundaries that are set
May get real close and try to cross
We haven't crossed them yet.
And as your friend, I do desire
To share your journeys path.
To hear your stories, talk with you,
To really hear you laugh.
Don't change a thing that we do now,
Let's just let time pass by.
Perhaps someday we will decide,
Reach out and touch the sky.
