Welcome Back To Normality

You do know of course, that this page's return to normality, must be taken into consideration that for a brief time, this page was the venue of a brief flirtation with religious evangelism. Yes yes, I don't know what came over me that one night in the past, but I was filled with an unexplainable urge to evangelise my Catholic faith - this I consider strange because I must be one of the last persons on earth worthy to do so. Things now have returned to normal, and I am irreverently yours, here for your entertainment, amusement or plain irritation - this I can do, as my dear friend, Celina of the Cult of Cheezu will vouch I'm sure. To contact the Cult of Cheezu, send mail, US$10,000 and 100 lbs of cheese to,

Number 007, Cheese City
Eirunepe, Amazonas
Brazil

Of course you know that this is in where most quacks - religious fanatics, crooked businessmen and lusty politicians flee to have their extended hiatus - in the land called South America ...

At this very moment, I should be studying for my History 6 Mock exam ... it being Thursday, the 19th of June 1997. It is my brother's birthday today. I have just come back from a book bash at MPH, and I do feel quite pleased and satisfied. Yes, for all you perverts out there, there are other ways to be satisfied, other than strenuous cardiovascular, inter-personal activity. I just hope now that if I do very poorly in the mock exams, that Miss Susan Toh should not chance upon this page, to, as they say ,screw me royally. Should that happen, then I suppose, my fate lies in nobody's hands, and the gods (paganly speaking), would have to abandon me to the lioness' den.

So much for idle chatter. This editon of Vernie Oliveiro's homepage, sees the introduction of the persona known as The Chancellor. Click for The Chancellor's Curriculum Vitae. Yes, for you bengs and lians out there, that's what the letter C.V. stands for. I assure you that The Chancellor is completely capable and fit for her job. I'm sure that my royal patron, Her Royal Highness of the House of Gan, would be pleased to speak on my behalf, and I hope she will. Alternatively, I do hope that the President of the Underground Students' Union would also speak on behalf of her Secretary Of Legal Affairs and Initiator and Manager of Riots (have you ever heard of such an oxymoronic title?).

So I chatter on, to the delight of my followers, friends and adversaries ... before I sign off though, I would like to contribute to my role as an internet clutterer, and lead you on further, to get lost in Cyberspace. I have included below my most favourite links. Yes yes, I haven't created a seperate page for it, just to save you precious energy and time. Enjoy.

1. Harvard and Yale Universities - considered by many to be the American and better alternatives, to Oxbridge, where everyone seems to be going these days ... *sigh*.
2. C-Net , a great way to find out more about what's great on the internet these days.
3. For those of you who share my love of words, try

A) This William Shakespeare link.
B) This Henry James fan page.
C) This George Eliot page.
4. For those of you interested in politics, this site on terrorism might be useful. Otherwise, check out some photographic evidence of Indonesian troops torturing East Timorese.
5. I found this extremely interesting page which is a project on Canadian geography. Visit
National Atlas on Schoolnet/L'Atlas national sur le Rescol canadien .
6. Finally, for those of you interested in The World's Schools Debating Championship, the Australian Capital Territory Debating Union runs an excellent site on debating.
