A while back we had a contest at a local club on the famous George Street of St. John's, Newfoundland Canada. It was to determine a name for an upstart new band getting into the Irish/Celtic Rock scene. There were several entries and a name was picked based on crowd participation as these were read out to a lively audience at HENRY'S HAVEN.
The winning entry was the Roving Gypsies. However, several band members were not too happy with this name and we settled on second place KILKENNY KREW. Well, we are 5 members all from the South/Southwest Coasts of Newfoundland who happened to meet in the province's capital city, St. John's.
