Hi! I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself. I am 22 years old. I am married to a great guy named Joe. He is a marine and we are staioned at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I am originally from a small town outside of Mobile, Alabama. We were married on February 14, 1997 and don't have any children yet but we do have a white cat named Abigail. Some things that I like to do are reading, cooking and chatting on the internet. I have also found that there is no better way to relax than to watch the sunset. I hardly ever miss one. I love meeting new people and getting to know them. I'd love to hear from anyone that needs a friend or just loves to chat.

These are of myself and my husband, Joe on our wedding day. We were married on February 14, 1997. We had a huge wedding with 17 attendants in it. It was beautiful even though it was pouring down rain. We had about 200 of our closest friends and familiy there to celebrate with us.

These are pictures of my family. The first one is my mom and dad, Debbie and Johnny. The second one is my mom, dad, myself and my brother John. The third picture is me and my brother John when were playing in the dirt pile that was in our yard. Aren't we cute?
The first picture here is a picture of my soon yo be adopted sister. She has been livng with my parents for about a year and they plan to adopt her soon. The other picture is of me and my little cousin, carly. She was my miniature bride in the wedding. She got embarrassed at all the oohs and aahs over her being so cute and had a fit as she was walking up the aisle so she is not in the group picture. The next picture is of our preist, Father Pat. He is the most fun loving person you can imagine. I still can't believe he is a priest.
This is a picture of my wedding party. All except for the miniature bride who got embarrassed and ran to her mom. From right to left the back row of girls are: Daphne, Marsha, Angel, Kristy and Michelle. The front row of little girls are Jenny, Tiffany, April, and Sunye. The little guy standing with them is My little sweetheart, Shane. Of course in the middle is myself and Joe. From right to left the guys are Beau, Barry, David, my brother John, and the little guy is Kevin. Hey you guys! I hope you get to see this!
These are some other pictures that I just decided to throw in. The first is my husband in his dress uniform. Isn't he a handsome devil? The next picture is of us when I was a junior in high school. That's my Jr./Sr. prom. The last picture is of Joe with his oldest sister, Angela dancing at our wedding reception. Or at least she was trying to teach him to dance!

          The Military Wife

The good Lord was creating a model for military wives and was into His sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared. She said, "Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"

The Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order. She has to be completely independent, possess the qualities of both father and mother, be a perfect hostess to four or forty with an hour's notice, run on black coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able to carry on cheerfully, even if she is pregnant and has the flu, and she must be willing to move to a new location ten times in seventeen years. And, oh yes, she must have six pairs of hands!"

The angel shook her head, "Six pairs of hands? No way."

The Lord continued, "Don't worry, I will make other military wives to help her. And I will give her an unusually strong heart so it can swell with pride in her husband's achievements, sustain the pain of separations, beat soundly when it is overworked and tired, and be large enough to say, 'I understand' when she doesn't and say 'I love you', regardless."

"Lord," said the angel, touching his arm gently. "Go to bed and get some rest. You can finish this tomorrow."

"I can't stop now," said the Lord. "I am so close to creating something unique. Already this model heals herself when she is sick, can put up six unexpected guests for the weekend, wave goodbye to her husband from a pier, a runway or a depot, and understand why it's important that he leave."

The angel circled the model of the military wife, looked at it closely and sighed, "It looks fine, but it's too soft."

"She might look soft," replied the Lord. "But she has the strength of a lion. You would not believe what she can endure."

Finally the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Lord's creation. "There's a leak," she announced. "Something is wrong with the construction. I am not surprised that it has cracked. You are trying to put too much into this model."

The Lord appeared offended at the angel's lack of confidence. "What you see is not a leak," He said. "It's a tear."

"A tear?" What is it there for?" asked the angel.

The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, pain, disappointment, loneliness, pride, and a dedication to all the values that she and her husband hold dear."

"You are a genius!" exclaimed the angel.

The Lord looked puzzled and replied, "I didn't put it there."
