LISTED Below are a few of THE PROJECTS THAT WE SHARE WITH OTHERS A TIME FOR PLANTING A hands-on agriculture (science and art project of cultivating the soil) for Our Home School Academy members)
Children ages 5 through 17 (in our area) and their parents are accepted for this program on a first-come-first-served basis until all garden spots are filled. This is a SPRING Program. Classes meet every other Tuesday the beginning of the planting season and end when the plants are in full bloom. Our program includes planting, nurturing, weeding and the study of perennial and annual planting for our area. Seeds and plants for both perennials and annuals along with tools, compost and other supplies are provided. Gardeners are rewarded with a gardening certificate and photo of their area for their school portfolio. Also, each family will name their area and a tiny wooden stake is posted with that name in that area. All children MUST be accompanied by parent/teacher, at all times. IF you have the land, why not do this project for your area home school group?

A FALL CELEBRATION
In October we celebrate the fall harvest. Each family will choose a pumpkin and decorate it as they choose. Then take him home to rest by their door to welcome the season and visitors. Then we have a nature hike and explore all the changing foliage in the area. Everyone brings a picnic lunch, sketch pad & camera.

A WINTER CELEBRATION
The night sky during the winter is alive with dancing stars. We so enjoy setting up our telescope and observing it. We build a campfire, sing songs, roast wieners, marshmallows, drink hot chocolate, tell tales and take a hayride under the stars. Families bring warm blankets, a telescope and a musical instrument, if they play.

A SPRING CELEBRATION
Taking a walk around the grounds and observing the beauty of the wild and hybrid flowers, annuals and spring foliage in bloom is a favorite. We have our annual BBQ and each family brings a covered dish. The children can visit "Kams Toad Abode", our newest project, and learn how to make one of their own. We have games and a treasure hunt.
