Buffy's Retort

Buffy confronts the group (mostly Xander) on how selfish they're being when they discover 
Angel is back. (Written for Revelations)


Giles: "We know Angel is alive."

Buffy: "It's not what you think."

Xander: "Really?  Cause I think you're harboring a vicious killer."

Buffy: "But he's better now!"

Xander: Better?  He killed a friend of ours… and he's better!?!"

Buffy: "Excuse me!?  Excuse me!  Who are you to talk?!  Have you ever experienced any real pain?  
 'Oh, no! I have to slay for three months of my life!'  Could you possibly think of anyone 
besides yourself for a moment?!?"

Xander: "This has nothing to do with this summer!  This has to do with you having a touchy/feely vibe 
with a murderer!"

Buffy: "No!  This has to do with you, everything is about you!  Consider me for one minute.  Do you know 
what I went through?  I sent the man I loved…love, to hell!  He had a soul, he knew my name; he kissed me, 
and he loved me when I plunged a sword through his heart!  I lived with guilt for a million different reasons, 
and on the day that I decided to stop moping around; he came back, from a hundred years of torture."

Xander: "Well deserved!"

Buffy: "Shutup!  Just shutup.  You are an asshole!  Always so damn concerned with yourself."

Xander: "Like you said, this isn't about me.. it's about you.  So, Buffy, how does it feel to betray your friends, 
your watcher?  Tell us about you!"

Buffy: "My watcher?  Giles has every right to hate me.  I hate myself!"

Xander: "The feeling is mutual."

Buffy: "That's it!  I am sick and tired of your damn insults and maniacal retorts!"

Xander: "This isn't about me, remember?  This is about you being guilty about whoring yourself and getting people 
killed as a result."
	
She punches him.  He falls to the floor.  She begins to walk out.

Xander: "Are you going to him?"
	
She gives him a look and walks out.
