Society of Southern Scots
Acquires Sunbelt Scots Magazine

The Society of Southern Scots, a division of Creative Services of Coker, Alabama has acquired Sunbelt Scots Magazine effective April 1, 2001. Owned and operated by John W. Cargile & Paula H. Cargile, Creative Services has been in the magazine and book producing industry since 1990. John W. Cargile has been in the newspaper, magazine and book publishing industry since 1968. He is a graduate of Samford University with a degree in philosophy/journalism, and holds a doctoral degree from the University of Metaphysics. He has won numerous newswriting awards. He has been a frequent contributor to “The Highlander Magazine.” He also is president of Clan Cargill/Cargile Association, VP Clan Drummond Society of North America, president of Society of Southern Scots, and state chairman for Alabama Tartan Day. He is also a member of the St. Andrews Society of Tuscaloosa, and an affiliate of The Scottish Coalition, The Caledonian Foundation. He is a 32nd degree Mason. John W. Cargile will assume the responsibilities of editor/publisher, and Paula H. Cargile will assume the duties of Sales/Marketing.
