As the DREADNAUT pulls away, what they don't realise is the NOSTROMO is armed with automatic cannons (used to deflect asteroids that might endanger the ship by coming too close).
The NOSTROMO's computer is malfuctioning, it mistakes the DREADNAUT for an asteroid passing too close........and.....
It fires upon the unknowing ship, all hands are lost. The DREADNAUT's computer automaticly launches the standard EVA dropship, but no one was able to get onboard.
It now drifts empty through space, to become salvage for some other ship someday.
