into my kitchen dungeon to find out what Halloween Goodies I have!
I hope some of these tasty treats will be just right for all you
little goblins, witches and ghosts. HEH, HEH, HEH


Ghostly Green Brew
2 liter chilled ginger ale
1/2 gallon lime sherbet
Allow sherbet to soften in punch bowl. Pour ginger ale over and stir until all sherbet is dissolved. For a great Halloween treat, serve in a large well-cleaned pumpkin with a great face painted in it!

Ghoul Ade
1 package Kool-Aid grape flavor unsweetened mix
1 package Kool-Aid orange flavor unsweetened mix
2 Cups sugar
3 Quarts cold water
1 Bottle - qt. ginger ale - chilled
Mix Kool Aids together with sugar, in large pitcher. Add water and mix.
Just before serving, add ginger ale. Serves:10
Swamp Juice
2 cups boiling water
1 pkg. (8-serving size) JELLO Lime Gelatin*
2 cups cold orange juice
1 liter cold seltzer
Ice cubes
1 pint orange sherbet, slightly softened
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
* Or 2 pkg. (4-serving size) can be substituted for 1 pkg. (8 serving size)
Stir boiling water into gelatin in large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in orange juice. Cool to room temperature. Pour into punch bowl just before serving, . Add cold seltzer and ice cubes. Place scoops of sherbet and fruit slices in punch.
Witches' Brew
Serves:8
3 cups boiling water
1 pkg. (8 serving size) JELLO Orange Flavor Gelatin*
4 cups boiling apple juice or apple cider
* Or 2 pkg. (4-serving size each) can be substituted for the 1 pkg. (8-serving size
Stir boiling water into gelatin in large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in boiling apple juice. Pour into mugs. Serve with cinnamon sticks.
Candy Corn Popcorn Balls
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1 package (10 1/2 ounces) miniature marshmallows (6 cups)
1 package (4-serving size) JELLO, any flavor
12 cups (3 quarts) popped popcorn
1 cup candy corn
Microwave butter and marshmallows in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until marshmallows are puffed. Stir in gelatin until well mixed. Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn and candy corn in large bowl. Mix lightly until well coated. Shape into 15 balls or other shapes with greased or wet hands.
Wrap each ball in plastic wrap and tie with raffia or ribbon.
Halloween Haystacks
Serves: 24
1 cup Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
2 cups chow mein noodles
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup peanuts
Microwave chocolate and butterscotch chips in medium microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 to 3 minutes, stirring until smooth. Add remaining ingredients; stir until evenly coated. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Refrigerate until firm.
VARIATION: Haystack Critters - Prepare recipe as directed. Insert additional chow mein noodles into the "haystacks" for antennae and legs. Press small colored candies onto the heads for eyes.
Trick or Treat Snack Mix
4 cups POST Halloween Honeycomb Sweetened Corn and Oat Cereal
2 cups caramel popcorn
2 cups small pretzels
1 cup candy corn
Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Place in decorated bags. Makes about 9 cups.

Halloween Sugar Cookies
24 servings
1/2 c Butter - softened
1 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1-1/2 ts Vanilla extract
2-1/2 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Salt
Orange food color
Chocolate sprinkles
Beat butter and sugar in mixer until creamy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, then add vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl and beat in butter mixture. Add small amount orange food color to dough with toothpick and beat at low speed until dough is evenly colored. Form dough into walnut-sized balls and place 2 inches apart on
lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten balls gently with palm of your hand, then press with fork tines to make grid pattern. Top with chocolate sprinkles and bake at 375 degrees 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
Boo Cups
Makes 15 (1-cup) servings
3-1/4 cups cold milk
2 pkg. (4-serving size each) JELLO Chocolate Instant Pudding
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided
1/2 of a 16-oz. pkg. chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed, divided
Assorted small round and oval-shaped candies (optional)
Pour milk into large bowl. Add pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 1 minute. Gently stir in 1/2 of the whipped topping and 1/2 of the crushed cookies. SPOON 1 tablespoon crushed cookies into 15 individual cups. Evenly divide the pudding mixture among the cups. Top with remaining crushed cookies. Drop remaining whipped topping by spoonfuls onto desserts to create "ghosts." Decorate with candies to create "eyes." Refrigerate until ready to serve. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.
Shortcut: Instead of dropping spoonfuls of whipped topping, fill a zipper-style plastic bag with remaining whipped topping; seal. Using scissors, snip one end diagonally. Squeeze out topping to create ghosts.
Halloween: Pumpkin Patch Cake
2 18 oz boxes devil's food cake mix
white frosting -- enough for 2 cakes
orange and green food coloring
3 pcs candy corn
1 pc black licorice
Prepare cake mixes according to package directions. Except make the cakes in 12-cup Bundt Pans with ridges (to resemble a pumpkin). Also, take enough batter to make one cupcake*. Unmold pans and place them bottom to bottom. Set the cakes on a large platter and frost them with the white frosting tinted orange. Then frost cupcake with white frosting tinted green. There will be a hole in the middle of the cake. Fill with leftover frosting and set green cupcake on top (pumpkin stem). Place candy corn where eyes and nose should be. Place licorice where mouth should be.
