HOLIDAY CHRISTMAS 2

Scent of pine trees fills the air
Majestic and so tall
Adorned with Christmas beauty
To deck a special hall

Bounds of ribbon flowing
Tree now filled with lights
Sparkling like diamonds
In the softness of the night

Gathered by a fire
With loved ones by our side
Sharing special laughter
Capturing Yuletide

Peace and love enfold you
In season of great love
Heavens sweetly bless you
With snowflakes from above.

POETRY~EMOTION

Christmas......the most wonderful and widely celebrated holiday of
the year. Everywhere, over this great country of ours, people are
preparing for this very special holiday. Along with the preparations
comes many memories of holidays long ago. I think back to the time
when my own children were small and I can still see the excitement,
expections and happiness reflected in their eyes. I see them opening
presents on Christmas morning, unable to contain their excitement
After a "forced" :-) breakfast it was time to get ready for church.

Then home again to get ready for the family gathering and another
round of opening presents. This was usually held at my in-laws home.
Such a commotion...loading presents in the car and food that I had
prepared. The kids were so eager to get to Nana and Grandpa's house,
knowing what was waiting for them! After the exciment of opening
gifts (again!) things settled down. The kids playing with all their new
treasures, the men talking about who knows what, and, of course, the
women in the kitchen preparing Christmas dinner. To me those are
Christmas memories, a gathering of loved ones and they are just as
bright and happy today as they were many years ago. May God
bless each and every one of you and grant you many happy
memories in the making.
