Early Petroglyphs in America 3

Source: Saga America by Barry Fell © 1980, p.

Inscription Date: circa 700 CE

Location: White Mountains, Nevada & California

Description: "Shaytân maha mayan," ("Satan is a fount of lies") reads
this Classical Kûfic Arabic, some two feet across, on a boulder on the
west slope of Boundary Peak, in the White Mountains near Benton,
on the border of Nevada and California. The style of the script indicates
a date after seventh century CE, and the unknown scribe was a Muslim.
