Three time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion

Jeff Gordon, the 27 year-old driver whose best years might still be before him, joined the ranks of NASCAR's elite after winning the ACDELCO 400 and becoming the youngest three-time Winston Cup champion.

Gordon's circuit-high 12th victory of the year also made him only the seventh driver ever to win three championships, joining Lee and Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip and Cale Yarborough.

Jeff takes the checkered flag at Pocono July 98. Brooke joins in on the celebration. Brooke was also Miss Winston in 1993.

Jeff is the winner of the Brickyard 400 and $1.6 Million.

Jeff wins the ACDELCO 400 and the 1998 Winston title.

What happened Jeff???? Did we run out of gas????

Tearing up the track.

The Rainbow Warriors at work

When Jeff brings the DuPont Cheverolet onto pit road, the Rainbow Warriors go to work. They'll change four tires, fill the car up with gas, and clean the windshield all under 18 seconds. And they'll usually beat every other race team off of pit road in the process. Simply put, they're the best at what they do.

Although Jeff is a great driver, we also have to give credit to the pit crew. When you make a list of the best crew chief in NASCAR racing, Ray Evernham's name will usually appear at the top of the list. Ray has been with the team since its inception. He was Jeff's crew chief in the Busch series and made the jump to Winston Cup with him at the end of the 1992 racing season. Seven years later, Gordon has three Winston Cup titles and over 35 victories under the guidance of Evernham....our hats off to Ray and the Rainbow Warriors.

"Hard work, strength, unity, unselfishness, and oneheart--that's Ray Evernham's definition of a Rainbow Warrior. Never asking what's in it for me, the question has always been 'what must we do to win?' Through adversity, you've held your heads high, and represented your sport with class. To me, to your peers, to your families, to your friends, to your fans around the world, you are the definition of the word 'champion.' I am every proud to work with you." Ray Evernham New York, New York December 4, 1998
