Welcome to my homepage sweet homepage. My name is Christen Suzanne Robertson. As for the old day job, I sell textbooks in the sleepy town of Blacksburg, VA. I look a bit like a toucan. I am a bit more than two decades old. I am a lapsed Mormon. (Doesn't this sound like a Hemingway novel already?) As for what I do when not selling textbooks, I am a sucker for the visual arts. I dabble in photography, drawing and painting, but sadly don't get much of it done these days.

What I am fondest of, though, is all different sorts of music. Music to me is sanity, refuge from things I see every day that, well, just don't make sense. My hands down favorite group is the now-reunited Concrete Blonde. Bass player and vocalist Johnette Napolitano now writes, produces and records her own solo material. Granted, you hippies out there are probably swimming in your stink and your patchuli oil and cursing me because ANI DOES TOO, but Ani doesn't sing half as well as Johnette, and Ani sings the same bra-burning feminist diatribes over and over without much thought to those who would like to hear something else already. But enough. Godspeed You Black Emperor! also rocks my world. The ethereal-in-his-own way Nick Cave shant go unmentioned. As my father was a folk rock junkie, I have heard the soulful strains of the Byrds, the Grass Roots, and Simon and Garfunkel all my life, and still enjoy them.

And for even more details, if you have read this far... I hail from Kilmarnock, Virginia. It is on the eastern tip of the state, which is addressed by the locals as the Northern Neck. I now live in Southwest Virginia. I have a whole bunch of cats. Why, believe it or not, I even have friends.
