"What is the seal of attained freedom? No longer being ashamed in front of oneself."

"There is something feeble and a little contemptible about a man who cannot face the perils of life without the help of comfortable myths. Almost inevitably, some part of him is aware that they are myths, and that he believes them only because they are comforting. But he dares not face this thought! Moreover, since he is aware, however dimly, that his opinions are not rational, he becomes furious when they are disputed."
--Bertrand Russell

"In truth, man is a polluted river. One must be a sea, to recieve a polluted river and not be defiled. Behold, I teach you the Superman: he is this sea, in him your great contempt can go under."
---Fredrich Nietzsche

Have any of you faithful Christians ever tried to produce one coherent version of what happened after the crucifiction and up until the ressurection? This is a critical matter in trying to validate your faith. If you place so much faith upon the supposed ressurection of a Jewish man of 2000 years ago, then you should have some source of proof that he indeed died for your salvation. Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20-21 are the Gospels' versions of this time frame. Also read Acts 1:3-12 and Paul's tiny version of the story in I Corinthians 15:3-8. Also, after putting together your one complete version of the days following the crucifiction, put together a plausible explanation for the Biblical account of Noah and the flood. The size of Noah's Ark was such that there would be about one and a half cubic feet for each pair of the 2,000,000 to 5,000,000 species to be taken aboard.

"I don't believe in God because I don't believe in Mother Goose."
--Clarence Darrow

"The Christian god can easily be pictured as virtually the same god as the many ancient gods of past civilizations. The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites."
--Thomas Jefferson

"It may be that our role on this planet is not to worship God but to create him."
--Arthur C. Clarke

"What the world needs is not dogma but an attitude of scientific inquiry combined with a belief that the torture of millions is not desirable, whether inflicted by Stalin or by a Deity imagined in the likeness of the believer." --Bertrand Russell
