Weekend and seven-day
Insight meditation retreats in 2005

Retreats are run together with the Young Buddhists Association of Thailand (YBAT).
They are residential, silent retreats.

 

One weekend retreat will be held with YBAT in 2005 on September 23 - 25.

It runs from Friday evening to Sunday evening.

There is suggested donation of 3,000 baht per person for food and accommodation. For those who wish to travel from the House of Dhamma to the centre by mini-van, you will need to book a seat and departure time from the House of Dhamma is Friday 2.30 pm. .


 

A seven-day retreat will take place from November 13 - 19.

Sunday morning, November 13 to the evening of Saturday, November 19.

There is suggested donation of 5,000 baht per person for food and accommodation. For those who wish to travel from the House of Dhamma to the centre by mini-van, you will need to book a seat and departure time from the House of Dhamma is 7.00 am on the first day.

The retreats are held at the Young Buddhists Association of Thailand's custom-built meditation centre in Pathumthani, north of Bangkok.

Overview

Insight (Vipassana) meditation forms the basis of the retreats, but there may also be sessions on Metta (Loving Kindness) practice. Emphasis will be placed on the integration of the spiritual dimensions of being with those of the physical in everyday life.

Standing, walking, sitting and lying down meditations will be held in group sessions and as individual practice. Vegetarian food and single room accommodation will be provided. Meditators keep eight precepts while on the retreat. The retreats are open to all English-speaking adults. It is not necessary to be a Buddhist to take part.

Instruction will be in English, with some Thai translation as necessary.

Meditation instructors

The main instructors are Rev. Saddharma (Helen Jandamit), A Buddhist Priest in the Mook Rim Society (Korean Zen) who is also a Vipassana Meditation Master and healer, together with Acharn Kampan Suwanajak, Vipassana Meditation Master and Buddhist Scholar.
