General Business and Internet Consulting

This consulting service is provided by John J. Alquist. It includes general business consulting on any topic, as well as topics related to Internet business strategy and business website development.

A consulting client is not required to have WebsiteXpresss create its website. We can evaluate your existing website and provide suggestions for improvement and/or additional business strategies to capitalize on your firm's Internet marketing plans and programs.

However, if you use WebsiteXpress for website creation and development within three months after the conclusion of a consulting project with us, we will credit 50% of your previously paid consulting fees up to $ 450 toward the development fees on your website creation project.

Our consulting fees are $ 150 per hour. There is a two hour minimum, and we offer a daily fee of $ 900, which saves $300 off the hourly rate.

Any travel by John J. Alquist requiring an overnight stay and/or a distance of over 100 miles from Uptown Charlotte will also include travel accomodations arranged and paid directly by the client.

Internet Website Development

These services include the following: strategic project consulting, professional copywriting, full graphic design, software coding, Internet Service Provider selection and liaison, transmission of your website from us to the Internet Service Provider via FTP, and up to four hours of Internet marketing and website consulting at your place of business--after the site goes up on the Internet's World Wide Web.

These services and related fees assume that WebsiteXpress will use available background and available animations, as well as any artwork and photographs provided by the client.

Any customized creation of animations, artwork, or photographs will be charged at $100 per hour, but our charges shall not exceed a prior quotation previously approved by the client.

Internet Website Development Investments Defined

Many Internet industry website resource firms use a per page method to price Internet website development. WebsiteXpress is no exception. A page is defined by this industry as 8 1/2" x 11" when printed.

We price Internet website development according to this schedule:

  • Three page site--$1,400

  • Four page site--$1,650

  • Additional pages (5-14)--$275 per page

  • Additional pages(15-24)--$240 per page

  • Total of 25 pages or more--Per Our Customized Quotation

  • Project Production Schedule and Penalties

Sensitive to client need, and wishing to complete concurrent projects for other clients in an efficient manner as a matter of equity to them also, WebsiteXpress uses production schedules binding to both parties. The dates below are binding upon both parties for this contract.

    The steps are:

    1. Agreement Signed:__________________(actual date).

    2. All materials supplied by client to WebsiteXpress. This date is no more than two weeks from the contract signed date above. WebsiteXpress shall invest up to four hours--but no longer--on this project phase.

If client exceeds two week schedule, or if client requires more than four hours of service due to its inefficiency, then WebsiteXpress shall charge, and client shall pay, $75 per hour for the fifth and additional hours, and/or $25 per day for delays--fees charged at sole discretion of WebsiteXpress.

All materials must be provided to WebsiteXpress by:__________(actual date).

    3. WebsiteXpress shall complete website creation by:_________(actual date). This is two weeks after receipt of all client materials.

    4. Final approval decision by client must be made within one week of receipt of completed website creation material. In this contract, that date is:_________(actual date).

Approval shall be granted, provided that the website attains the business objectives and content mutually agreed upon. However, any client changes due to client subjective factors--or client change in direction--at that point shall be charged at $75 per hour.

Client delay in the final approval decision over the one week period will be charged to the client at $ 25 per day.

    Free Added Service

At no additional charge to you, we register your website in the top five search engines on the Internet as well as up to five specific on-line directories applicable to the needs of your business.

Additional search engine registrations will be charged at $ 75 per hour.

    Upgrading, Updating and Maintenance

Even the best websites get outdated with the passage of time, changes in your fast-moving business, and you need to refresh your website on a periodic basis to prevent visitor staleness and boredom.

We provide updating and maintenance services at $ 75 per hour. You may purchase a contract for eight hours of service in advance, or $600, prepaying this with a 10% discount, or $ 540 net to you.

In the alternative, you may learn how to perform these updates yourself, if you prefer. WebsiteXpress teaches these skills at $ 75 per hour.

WebsiteXpress shall propvide a time estimate for this contract based upon the initial project definition by the Client. If, at a later time, Clients directs that the scope of the project be expanded, WebsiteXpress will provide an adjusted requotation to handle the increased workload, obtaining Client approval before proceeding.

Domain or URL Names--How And Why To Get Your Very Own Name

We strongly recommend that businesses on the Internet obtain and use their own domain names--example: www.ibm.com

If you do not use your own domain name, you will have the appearance on the Internet of a minor league business playing in the Major Leagues. If you do not get your own name, the name arbitrarily assigned to you will be far too long and very hard to remember.

Here's an actual example of one of our clients who, at first, refused to get his own domain name, then obtained a name later. His original Internet name/address was:

    http://www.servnettech.net/naturalmarketplace

His updated address on the Internet is:

    http://www.healthfix.com

Domain name registration costs $70 to use a name for two years. You will also pay a $99 fee for the Internet Service Provider to handle this name registration function and set up your account.

Of course, this URL name is renewable after the two years for prices then in effect. With five name registrars now instead of one, and with the registration cost coming down from $100 to $70, there is no reason to expect an increase in this cost over the next two years. No money is ever paid to WebsiteXpress for a domain name.

If you change Internet Service Providers within the two year period, the new Internet Service Provider may charge you a fee to reregister the domain name.

You will also pay the Internet Service provider directly for the on-going hosting of your site, typically $35 to $50 per month.

    WebsiteXpress Payment Terms

One half of the total estimated amount is due upon the signing of this Agreement. The other one half is due upon project completion, as evidenced by providing both the client and the Internet Service Provider the website on a computer disk.

WebsiteXpress owns these materials until the final payment is made, transferring ownership rights to the client. In the event of default on the final payment, WebsiteXpress continues to exercise and enjoy 100% ownership of this intellectual property, the client having forfeited any and all possible claims of ownership by default. Client default also results in forfeit of all previous payments made to WebsiteXpress and/or its owners, John J.and Jacinthe M. Alquist.

Said default occurs after attempted presentation of the final disk to the client and unsuccessful payment collection at that time.

In no circumstance is this material given to a client without receipt of the full and final payment.

    Special 10% Pre-Payers Discount

If you pay your WebsiteXpress professional fee fully upon contracting signing--rather than half-up front, half upon completion-- you earn at 10% prepayment discount.

    Payment Mechanics

WebsiteXpress accepts cash or checks from local business depository and credit line accounts written on financial institutions with geographic presence in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Any other check not meeting these criteria must be certified.

All payments are U.S. dollar demonimated, and no payments may be made in any foreign currency, as WebsiteXpress does not wish to deal with exposure to currency risks.

Make all checks payable to "WesbiteXpress."

Use of AOL Primehost, Mindspring and Other Large National Remote ISP Firms.

WebsiteXpress strongly recommends the use of Dasia.Net to host your website. There are also any number of adequate local ISP firms.

While local ISP firms are reasonably efficient to work with, experience has proven that large national ISP firms are 100% automated, have no local presence, and have 800 lines staffed by newly-employed, unseasoned incompetents.

If any client insists upon using one of these large national ISP firms with no local presence for hosting, Websitexpress charges an additional FTP fee of $150 to the Client.

We have wasted six to twelve additional hours dealing with these firms over 800 lines, and if you insist upon using these firms, we need to be compensated for the extra time involved.

    Liquidated Damages

In the event that a client stops working with WebsiteXpress for any reason as a website is under construction, any refund request for money back shall be denied, and any and all monies paid to WebsiteXpress shall be retained as "liquidated damages." Client waives right to make any claims to the contrary.

    Acceleration of Balance Owed

In the event that a client fails to meet its timetables for website development as per the production schedule contained in the contract, or should client fail to make final payment on a time basis as defined in step four in the Production Schedule, WebsiteXpress, at its sole option, may declare default on the contract and accelerate the remaining balance owed--due and payable immediately, notwithstanding whether or when the website may or may not completed in the future.

    Retainer for Continuous Consulting

After launching your Internet website, we will provide ongoing consulting advice--specifically for $ 300 per month for two hours service. That's a $3,600 annual value. If you prepay $ 3,000 in one lump sum, you will save $ 600.

Clients with retainer arrangements will experience first priority at extremely busy times as a matter of fairness.

    Possibility of Bartering

On a case by case basis, WebsiteXpress may agree to barter its services in exchange for products and services provided by the client. However, WebsiteXpress may decline a barter arrangement in advance for any reason.

We will value products and services of both parties, using the undiscounted, published retail prices of both firms. Our client will provide written documentation certifying the existence of barter credits at an agreed upon value.

Should the value of WebsiteXpress services exceed the value of the barter credits, the client shall pay the difference by check or cash up front.

Should the value of the barter credits exceed the value of WebsiteXpress professional services, WebsiteXpress shall grant the availability of future services at no charge, as specified by a letter from WebsiteXpress.
