Carla's Page of STUFF

This site is currently (okay... constantly)
UNDER CONSTRUCTION

***War is never a good thing, but whether I believe that Operation Iraqi Freedom is the right thing to do or not, I will always support our military forces that are there. May God look down on the men and women fighting for our country and bring them all home safely.***

Hi there and welcome to my homepage. Basically this page is about things that interest me for one reason or another, so there is lots of personal commentary. I have fun doing this and am constantly tinkering here or there, so it's a never ending project. If you've ever worked on a webpage then you know what I mean.

Originally I'm from Southern California (hi Mom and Neile) but in 1980 I moved to the beautiful state of Alabama. I lived there for 22 years and in 2002 I moved to Hampton, Virginia.

I am a divorced mom with a son who was a Varsity Wrestler and Varsity Soccer player at his high school. He graduated from high school in May 2001 and left on June 25, 2001 to start his next life adventure... a career in the Air Force. I am very proud of my son, Josh... he has developed into a wonderful young man with an awesome future. :) In February 2005, Josh added a new direction to his life when he married Christine, who is also in the USAF. I'm very glad Josh came home from Jordan & Afghanistan in 2002 and Kuwait in 2005 safe and sound!

I've got a picture page of Family, Friends and Me, hope you enjoy it.

I am a NASCAR Diehard (hi to Drivin' Sideways!) and can be found on Sunday's (and some Saturday's) in front of a TV catching all the action at that weeks track. I don't limit myself to Winston Cup as I also enjoy the BGN and Truck series (not to mention CART and sometimes even Formula One). I have been lucky to actually attend races (1 at Bristol, 3 at Talladega - my former home track and 1 at Richmond - my new home track), and I hope to someday be able to visit other tracks. I have gotten to meet a lot of racefans in person (Rand (Zman!), Pat, Jules (Aunt Mimi), Richard, Mike H., Tony, Brian R., Brian M., Johnny (Hey Bro!), Mike B., Jenny and John, Shishka (Rest In Peace My Friend), Rob, Steve... so on and so forth) whom I have met online (mainly AOL) and have developed some great friendships (Hi ya Sis! LYMI). Race fans are the best!!

Can you relate to this? A little humor for those of us who enjoy our online time maybe a little too much (it might be a bit slow loading).

When not cheering on my racing favorites, I can be heard to scream WAR EAGLE at the top of my lungs. Thanks to a very wonderful and enthusiastic friend, I developed a love for Auburn University sports.

Most important to me is that I live with Scleroderma C.R.E.S.T. Never heard of it? Don't worry... you're not alone. I didn't have a clue as to what Scleroderma was until I was diagnosed in December 1997. I'm by no means an expert now, but I have learned a great deal about this incurable (yet treatable) disease. I have also created a page of Poems that are inspirational to me.

In 2000 at the age of 40, I returned to the Martial Arts. This is something that I enjoyed many years ago, and I have loved getting back into it. It's a good way to get in shape physically and mentally, and I've met some wonderful people as well. I was in an accelerated program due to previous martial arts training and received my First Degree Blackbelt in October 2001.

I hope you'll tour the different pages and links and find something that you like (there's more links down below).
