If you are reading this my site must be working so tell me how it went. This version of the Roll Call will have to do till my full version is ready.
THE ALPHABET SOUP ROLL CALL
They appeared in the classroom in early September.
Eager to learn, I will always remember
This talkative group would end my day,
And touch my heart with what they say.
With their search for knowledge and love of the Lord,
It was very clear they were never bored.
Questions and stories were always at hand
From this enthusiastic 7th grade band.
Each showed their worth, though part of the group.
Strong personalities - an alphabet soup.
With this introduction the roll call begins.
I offer their nicknames with giggles and grins.
Parisa Bastani, with hiccups galore,
Had us in stitches and rolling the floor.
This bright-eyed beauty needing a water fix,
Will always be remembered as our girl "Hics"
Melanie Covert, what a blessed lass,
And when in Chapel she shows such class.
Her focus on learning is strong as well,
And will always be known as our beloved "Mel".
Keith Cross, sooo intelligent - ever so bright,
His sense of humor's out of sight.
The taking of tests is quite his "biz".
He shall always be known as "Mr. Whiz".
Erik Gaustad, always a twinkle in his eye,
Shares a happy greeting and a hearty goodbye.
He's bright and funny, and he makes no fuss.
This clever young man shall be known as "Gus".
Michael Gibbins, is quiet, his intellect strong,
His quest for knowledge continues along.
Learning unsated, he'll never adlib,
And is lovingly known as Michael or "Gib".
John Gilbert, so exuberant and ever so quick,
Is learned, yet funny, and won't miss a trick.
He's ready and eager, his mind he must fill,
And takes as his nickname "The Almighty Gil".
Sarah Grossman, a lovely, intelligent blonde,
Has academic focus of which I am fond.
She's sweet and charming, quite the young lady,
And takes on her nickname as wonderful "Sadie."
Gaela Guerra, she sits with her friend,
And chitters and chatters until the class ends.
This intelligent Muppet is often quite squirmy,
And our lovely Gaela shall be known as "Ernie".
Aaron Hansen, is a boy who is sharp as a tack.
With a subtle wit, and has the knack,
To turn a phrase with alacrity and ease,
And will ever be known as "Mr. Tease".
Alina Higham, though her package is small
"Teenie Weenie Beanie Leenie" has it all.
Never you mind; she has no double.
But watch out, guys, here comes "T.W.B.L.!
Brian Jones, a young man who always does well.
He's honest and caring, of that we can tell.
Regardless the work, he never moans,
This strapping lad shall be "Mr. Bones".
Karli king is a bright one and quite a gal,
Sits with friend Ernie, her Muppet pal.
She's happy and kind, not a fly would she hurt.
And could only be known as our dear girl "Bert".
Preston Lam, a serious student and a kind lad,
Is quiet and studious, of that we are glad.
His work is impeccable, and quite a treat.
I'll always remember him as "Mr. Neat".
Jessica Lau is a smart one, clever and funny.
Her intellect strong, she's quick as a bunny.
She's curious and listens to all that I say,
And is our happy, lively, outgoing "P.J."
Doreen Masteller, her talents abound.
Her use of pens will ever astound.
A heart of gold, there's no one sleeker.
How could we forget our beloved "Beeker"?
Lauren Oliver, endless questions from her,
She's intelligent, curious, and funny for sure.
Though we often wonder, her hair is brunette.
Shall henceforth be known as "Silly Suzette".
Allen Peters, quite verbose and smart,
Has turned talking in class into quite an art.
Becoming a never ending battle with that,
His name shall be "Mr. Prattle" or just plain "Prat"
Briana Sheppel, a quiet young beauty,
With a smile on her face, she's such a cutie.
Anxious to learn, she's always adept,
And will forever be known as our girl "Shep".
Doug Smit, with his unusual signature of "Oy",
Is an extremely outgoing kind of boy.
Whether dancing the jig or just being witty,
There is no equal to this boy named "Smitty".
Rachel Villaluna, a girl beautiful and clever,
Is always prepared no matter the endeavor.
Never without friends, she is numero una,
And shall be known as our fish "Tuna".
The roll call is over. There is no more.
They're all great stududents whom I adore.
We laugh and learn. They are such fun,
And are a group that is number one.
As she put away the roll sheet, they started to shout.
You forgot, you forgot, you left someone out.
Without you, without you, we'd be in a tangle.
You left out yourself, Ms. Admiral Shangle".
