A Short Bettie Bio

Bettie Page is the most photographed woman in the world. This is hard to believe but she has been photographed more than Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford combined. This sultry vixen had a surprisingly short career but in that time she became one of the most recognizable figures in the 20th century. Bettie was born in Nashville, Tennessee in April of 1923. AN amazing talent Bettie was at the top of her high school class and learned many skills that you can see in the pictures she left (she designed and made most of her own costumes). Bettie had wide ranging interests as a youth; these led her being voted as most likely to succeed, and succeed she did. As she grew up she traveled the county and the Caribbean, meeting people and soaking up the culture. Before long her travels lead her to the Empire State and into the waiting arms of history. Here in New York Bettie met the man that would change her life. Jerry Tibbs, a NY cop who fooled around with photography, met Bettie and this meeting led to her posing for him for a pinup calendar. What followed was more photoshoots, calendars, and other projects that would have her showing off what many people say was the most perfect body a woman could have. Bettie had raven hair, an amazing smile, and a look that made her seem innocent and sultry at the same time. Many people have tried to copy her look and style but no one have succeeded even capturing half the flair that Bettie possessed. Bettie remains as one of the most intriguing figures both literately and figuratively in history
