I graduated from Highschool in June of 1999. I finished my first year of University. I did one semester of sciences and one semester of languages. I took a year off to travel. I travelled much of Australia. I went back to do another year at Uvic. I was going to do a computer science degree but bailed out. I am now studying Marine Biology at James Cook University. Will likely be back in Canada once I'm done (December 2006).
I've been to Europe. I have been twice. The first time I went I was an exchange student for 3 months. I lived in Lahnstein and then NiederOlm. Visited Holland for a week then Switzerland for a weekend as well as many cities in Germany. Went back to Europe to work as an Aupair. Was meant to work for 12 months but had issues and only worked for 2.5 months. Spent 4.5 months travelling after working. Went to a lot of places. Ask me and I will tell you where I went. If you plan to go to Europe feel free to ask me about what I liked best and any other questions.
Between my two years at Uvic I was in Australia. Spent 10 months backpacking around the country. Went from Melbourne to Tasmania. Loved Tassie. It's so much like Vancouver island. Back to the cold wet Melbourne to jump on the Oz Experience bus. Took the back roads to Canberra. Spent a week there with friends of the family in Evatt. Went to Sydney and from there (after a couple of months there) it was off up the coast. Next major stop was Byron Bay. Best diving EVER! Then off to Brisbane. Worked in the hostel then got sent to work in a country pub in Yangan. Tiny little place but fun! Then off again to Townsville. Tried to dive but health problems stopped that. Then off to Cairns for a day or so before flying to Alice Springs. Me the most wonderful tour guide ever on the way to Uluru and then off to Adelaide and then back to Melbourne. Anyway... Want stories you'll have to ask!
