Welcome to the online portfolio of Dackral Scott Phillips
I am a recent Master's graduate from Auburn University in the area of
Computer Science and Software Engineering. I am currently seeking permanent, full-time employment
in an innovative and progressive company on the cutting edge of technology that will utilize
and challenge my skills in computer science and intelligent and interactive systems.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters in Computer Science and Software Engineering from
Auburn University in August 2002. I have specialization in Intelligent and Interactive Systems.
I am knowledgeable in more than a dozen programming languages, several web scripting languages, as
well as many database systems. I also have some experience with software processes, metrics, and
testing.
My graduate study has included work on pre-hypertext processing (PHP) web design, linux networking,
artificially intelligent searches, Database driven web applications (Oracle and MySQL), and a
restaurant phone menu system in VoiceXML.
My masters defense addressed a software program written in Java Swing to create computer readable
definitions for terms (ontologies) that can be used on the semantic Web.
During my graduate study, I have been employed for two semesters as a graduate teacher for Auburn
University as a recitation instructor for a data structures and algorithms course using the Java
language (COMP 2210). I have also served as a webmaster for the department of Computer Science
and Software Engineering for three semesters, and have been a programmer/webmaster for the
Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology for five semesters.
I am currently employed by Alpine Advertising in Oneonta, where I am a graphics artist/digital video editor. I also work part time as an coputer science instructor at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville. In my spare time I also do website design and computer work for friends, relatives, and acquaintances.
