Mexico III

Those nights...
when we both longed to keep
the shade of night upon us,
are what I remember best.
After curfew when the streets were asleep
(as well as my keepers)
I ran to you.
Nine houses down (or so)
into your drive way,
beside the mystery green truck that never left it’s spot,
and each time I crept behind with
such silence...
Imagining the horrible wrath to be experienced should I get caught.
It mattered not to me,
for what was to be found inside that house
was all that I would ever need.
They could never take that away from me.
Nothing could take....you....away....from.....me.
Nothing........could............drag................me.....................away.
