The Agony In Waiting

It’s almost dark,
and I’m left alone.
While I’m waiting here with you
this garbage blows,
and I’m still cold...
I’ll never not be blue.

I thanked you not
‘less up front I come
these mornings punish you
you don’t know me, and I don’t care
while I’m waiting here for you

I leave the nail polish
on my fingernails
‘till it chips, but it’s not gone.
Do you think I’m clingy, hun?
And do you love me still?

I thanked you not
‘less up front I come
these mornings punish you
you don’t know me and I don’t care
while I’m waiting here for you.

It’s all shut up,
and we’ve closed down
watch your paper bag mache
you will come by,
and watch for me,
and do you love me still?

You always loved me still
you will always love me still
I know you love me still.
