Pleasing Pamela

You’re numbers still run through my head.
I know you’ll see me until the end.
But for now we’ll just sit here, and you’ll just say
that you need some new thing.
When you’re pleasing the queen,
and you know we’re the same,
when you’re pleasing Pamela do you accidentally say my name?
I remember how you always said -
you said you hate it when I whine,
and the love - it died down,
but you revived it this time,
and you’ll keep passing me by on your way
to pleasing the queen,
and you know we’re the same,
you’re pleasing Pamela, but do you accidentally say my name?
Maybe if I listen real hard, I’ll hear what you’re trying to say.
‘Cause all these years you’ve been deaf while I’ve pretended I’m okay.
And you’ll show up at 2 am,
say you’ve had a hard nights work.
I’ll think “If you only knew”, and wish you’d read my look
Instead of pleasing Pamela.
‘Cause you know we’re the same,
sometimes when you’re pleasing Pamela do you
accidentally say my name?
I know you mean to
I know you want to
I know you’re thinking...
And you accidentally say my name.
