We are everyday people who have come together from the Birmingham, Alabama area, listened to each other, and united to end corporate rule. We are committed to popular democracy, inclusion, and nonviolence and to building alternative democratic, human-sized economic systems and a new people's movement, first locally, then nationally, then around the world.
We will work in collaboration with the national Alliance for Democracy to free all people from corporate domination of politics, economics, the environment, culture, and information; to establish popular democracy; and to create a just society with a sustainable, equitable economy.
We have come together to build a constituency for the Alliance for Democracy mission. We propose to do this by educating ourselves and the community; publicizing the Alliance for Democracy locally; participating in local pro-democracy and corporate accountability actions; and supporting the national Alliance for Democracy.
