Research on LDS Church by Corinne

I am not good in words but will do my best.

I love to learn of Christ and his gospel. I will stand by His side knowing that I believe in him and no one can take that away from me.

After research there are 13 books missing from the Bible and many scriptures missing. The bible (many books) is incomplete due to missing books/scriptures and the books are not in order.

St Matthew 7:20 - Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

3 Nephi 3:12 - And all nations shall call you blessed, for ye shall be a delightsome land (Americas) saith the Lord of Hosts.

Christ followers are his fruits and will be notice through out the earth. And by his blessing the Americas is the only land with freedom of choice.

  • Ephesians 4:11-14 - And he gave some apostles, and some prophets; and some evangelist; and some pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ; Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: that we henceforth be no more children, tossed and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

Christ established how his Church is and who helps Him that he has ordained; not by men who uses their craftiness that has no authorization by Christ.

  • Acts 3:20-21 - And he (father of heaven) shall send Jesus Christ (his Son), which before was preached unto you:
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began

Restitution shall take place on the earth. Restore his fullness gospel and his Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood authority that once his prophets/12 apostles had; will be back on the earth and he shall never take it away again until the end of time. All he established must return to earth. 12 apostles, priesthood, temple work. He will always communicate through his Prophets according to this scripture. And then Christ will return for his 2nd coming. He restored his gospel so you may learn more of him and be prepared before the day of his coming.

  • Isaiah 2:2-3 - And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths

Meaning all LDS Temple are being established through out the world and every nation on this earth does flow into his Temple. The words of "The house of the Lord" is on all LDS Temples.

  • St. Mark 1:10-11 - And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heaven opened, and the Spirit (Holy) like a dove descending upon him.
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

This taught us that we must be baptized by immerging in water not sprinkle. Jesus was not a baby being baptized he was a young adult. Ask your leader of your church and ask if they are authorized and where did they get it from?

  • St. John 3:5 - Jesus answered, "verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he CANNOT enter into the kingdom of God.

All who born on earth the living and who accepts Christ must be baptized by the correct authority. Jesus walked very long way to see John the Baptist. He did not go to anyone but John since Christ knew he had the priesthood and was ordained to baptized. He also promised to the dead who was not baptized with correct authority will be performed for them.

  • St John 20:17 - Jesus saith unto her (Mary), Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my Brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

After death of Jesus; he was gone for 3 days and then he arose from the dead. During the 3 days he had gone to the spirit prison of those who died and preached unto them.

  • 1 Cor. 15:29 - Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? Why are they then baptized for the dead?

Christ and his Saint followers (members) were baptizing the dead and today the same procedures are performed.

  • 1 Peter 4:6 - For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Each day thousands of LDS enter the Temple and perform ordinances for their ancestors as far back as records can disclose names and identities of these people.

  • 1 Peter 3:18-20 - For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison: Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is eight souls were saved by water.

  • 1 Peter 4:6 - For the cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

  • Matt.16:19 - And I will give the keys of the kingdom of Heaven (Priesthood); and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.

Must have the priesthood keys to perform this duty in the Temple to seal (bound) family together for eternity after death. Who can be sealed (bound) marriage, children to parents. Those who are not sealed shall be loosed in Heaven.

  • Mark 10:9 - What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put as under.

Joined - eternal family, genealogy and Temple work, eternal marriage, (asunder = divorce, broken family, separation)

  • St John 10:16 - And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one sheperd.

After he taught the Jews from the bible; he did say to them that he must go and teach other sheeps on other lands and they shall hear his voice also. This is where the Book of Mormon comes in; because those of other sheeps did hear from him after his death according to his word he went to his other sheeps and heard his voice and record his coming. Christ taught them the same works as the saints in the bible.

Other Christians target LDS members of bashing false information, anger, dishonesty, lies, and hatred against this church by listening to gossip.

LDS members are aware of the behavior and learned to deal with this.

We are taught there is only one church and only one faith and one God for this earth. See scripture St. John 10:16. God is not of confusion only man is. That is why there are so many different churches because men do not like how church is performed so they make their own church.

Some churches will teach their followers that the LDS is a cult and does not fit into their Christian beliefs; yes their beliefs. The other reason is that the LDS church did not break off the Roman Catholic Church like ALL other churches.

One thing I have learn from my church is this: St. Matthew 5:10-11 ~ Blessed are they which are perscuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

I think of this scripture when those who persecute me because I am LDS member.

Today there are so many different style and different names of a church - so which Church is Christ's church? by D. Scott Scheibe

There is no "Mormon Church". We belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We refer to it simply as "The Church" or "The LDS Church".

You may refer to it as that, or as "The Mormon Faith".

Those who hate or mislead (1830s) started calling the "LDS Church members" as Mormon members or "The Mormon Church".

Mormon was an ancient Jewish prophet living in America. It is written in the bible that they are other books that will be written and come forth.

We are the followers of God's beloved son Jesus Christ. So yes, we are Christians as well because we do believe in Christ who suffered for our sins.

17 points of a true Christ church done by 5 men when studying together; Floyd Weston was one of the 5 men. All were separated carrying these points with them to find this church that has all 17 points they wrote together. Two of them end up at the LDS church conference meeting. - 17 points

Jesus Christ talked to Moroni "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

Christ tells us to pray to the Eternal Father in faith to ask him to let us know if anything is true about his gospel through the Holy Ghost.

The Bible (books) is old and handed down from generation to generation first in Hebrew, Jews, Gentiles, Greek. It was translated in the Roman Catholic ways but King James did not like what they taught so it was translated into old English. Bible in Greek means many books.
Men of today with their craftiness have translated to their beliefs and have taken things out the bible or add to it. Currently the most correct Bible is the King James Version and no other. Go check it out on the book shelves in the christian book stores, wal-mart, library.

    Bible - History on Bible

Bible foretells future restitution of all things: Foretells of restitution of all

Christ works never stops and he will always tell his Prophets to write and tell of his plans.

The book of Mormon was written by other prophets who was taught about Jesus Christ that came here on this land (Americas)

Americas Indians or Aztecs - knew of Great Spirit - Great Spirit

Other religion is concern why LDS does not have a cross symbol on buildings or why not wear this symbol.

    LDS and Cross symbols

People think that Moroni who stands on our Temples is our symbol of our Lord. This is incorrect information. Moroni is the Angel who flew in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on earth, kindred, tongues, and people (see Revelation 14:6)

Jesus Christ was resurrected, He lives!

Simon Dewey the Artist an LDS member, so are Greg Olsen, Minerva Teichert, Del Parson and many more famous painter of Jesus. Today many other faiths are now using LDS prints of Jesus and others people from the bible including Jesus with children and women. You will see these famous prints located in any Christian's stores.

There is so much unbelief written information that is against Zion. Most of it is by gossip of hatred; or a church that is branched off from this church, good example is the Fundamental The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Restored of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (now is call The church of Christ). These two congregations have NOTHING to do with the main Church of LDS.

ALWAYS pray and ask if this is true or not, never judge people, because what ever you judge shall be judged you by Him.

I belong to this Church and I know that there is only one Church of Jesus Christ. He did not have so many different ones. It is his way only that will bring us back to live with him not man or priest craft.

So watch out for those Priest Craft they are so colorful, delusional, and will lead you the wrong path to destruction.

What people say is very misleading and it does hurt because of the cruelty of other religions love to bash. I am very lucky to belong to a church that is loving, caring and most of all they believe in Christ and work so hard to be like him.

He never smoked, never drink substances as in strong alcohol, caffeine, tea, use foul language, put tattoos nor any pierce on his body, never abuse children and women, never sexual abuse to anyone or have corrupted images that are related to sex, and he dressed his body respectfully; because he said to us your body is your Temple and my father dwells in you as long as you are clean, heavenly father does not dwell in unholyness.

He prays to Father and he kept the Sabbath day holy by doing miracles with the sick, he didn't go shopping or fishing, watch sports on tv and he didn't work on Sabbath day. He spread his Word instead. He was baptized immerged in water and he received the Holy Ghost by laying hands, he called the 12 apostles, he also called the prophets

    We follow his example.................

Modern Last days Prophet Thomas S Monson

His Church to be restored before second coming.
The second coming would not happen until there was a falling away from the truths taught by Christ.

    2 Thessalonians 2:1-3
1 NOW we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

    Acts 3:19-21
    19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
    21 Whom the heaven must
receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Now, what I typed above about restitution is little information. Read the all restitution of all things in the bible, there is a lot more!

Who says that there is no more Prophet in these last days?

God always talked to his Prophets since the world began

Christ's works and commands have not changed. Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

But it is they who do not fear me, neither keep my commandments but build up churches unto themselves to get gain, yea, and all those that do wickedly and build up the kingdom of the devil--yea, verily, verily, I say unto you, that it is they that I will disturb, and cause to tremble and shake to the center

These are last words that Moroni wrote: Moroni 10:32-24
(32)Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

(33)And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy without spot.

(34)And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite, and I am brought forth triumphant through the air, to meet you before the please bar of the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge of both quick and dead. Amen

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Clarifies Use of the Word 'Mormon' in News Reports
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recognizes that the prosecution of polygamist Warren Jeffs is generating substantial media coverage and that Jeffs' group refers to its members as fundamentalist Mormons. That is causing problems for reporters trying to help their readers, viewers and listeners distinguish between Jeffs' followers and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In the public mind, the word "Mormon" has come to mean something very specific. It conjures up images of Mormon missionaries on bikes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Mormon temples. It has become a synonym for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Consequently, when "Mormon" is used to describe polygamist groups, it causes great confusion about our beliefs among the general public and frustration to our members, which number over 12 million

The Associated Press Stylebook has recognized this difficulty and specified that the term "Mormon" is a nickname that should be applied exclusively to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and that it is not accurately applied to any other person or organization (see entries on "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The" and "Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints").

Polygamists and polygamist organizations that occasionally make the news are not dissident wings of the Church or fundamentalists. They have no affiliation whatsoever with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most of their members have never had any association with the Church either.

It follows that because Warren Jeffs is not affiliated with the Mormon church, and since he is not Mormon, reporters should look for more accurate and less misleading descriptions of him in the media. For example, Court TV's Web page never once used the word "Mormon" to describe Warren Jeffs in its story entitled "Prosecutors to present evidence against polygamist leader Warren Jeffs in teen-bride case."

We sometimes hear the argument that because Jeffs and his followers use the Book of Mormon they should be considered Mormons. However, Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans, evangelicals and a host of other faiths believe in Jesus and claim the Bible as their own, yet all consider themselves separate and distinct faiths.

The same is true for all religious groups who believe in Joseph Smith's prophetic calling and use the Book of Mormon. For example, the Community of Christ church claims Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon but changed its name from the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be recognized as a different faith.

Perhaps the following points will be helpful in your media coverage:

    * Warren Jeffs has never been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose members are often referred to as "Mormons."
    * Polygamy was officially discontinued in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1890. Any Church member adopting the practice today is excommunicated. Those groups which continue the practice in Utah and elsewhere have no association whatever with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and most of their practitioners have never been among our members.
    * The Church has long been concerned about the continued illegal practice of polygamy, and in particular about reports of child and wife abuse emanating from polygamous communities today.
    * Even in countries where civil or religious law allows polygamy, the Church teaches that marriage must be monogamous and does not accept into its membership those practicing plural marriage.

Thank you for your time and attention in what we consider a very serious matter for our faith. We hope that both reporters and headline writers will be sensitive to this information.
