Smoke rose from the ruins
as planes hit the side,
thousands lost or missing,
how many more must die ?

Wailing beneath the rubble,
victims maimed by pride,
madness conceived in hatred;

Look what they've done to my people,
what it's done to our lives,
if they had not first sought to kill us
we wouldn't have this strife.

But Jesus said, 'give good for evil.'
Do two wrongs make it right,
spilling down mistaken trails ?

But in the frightful journey
where prayers should make their flight,
the brave, the hurt, the coward,
alone must face the light.

But stand we must together
against the cruel, not hide
'till all that's lost is gathered;

While the fire raged gleeming
buring it's desire,
claiming life and limb,
the best was recognized.

Heros who fought the blaze
paid with their lives,
ordinary people with souls;

of what is right and wrong,
when each side declares holy war
where does God belong ?

On our own we long to end
the terror we decide,
but what cheek has turned to seek His heart ?

fields battle crazed.

to say that no one tried,
