What Does The Matrix Have To Do With Empiricism? The Matrix has a lot to do with empiricism because it all has to do with knowledge. Empiricism is knowledge through experince. In the Matrix the people who were still in the system only knew what they have seen, smelt, heard, tasted and felt. They had no idea that the was another world because they have never experinced it. At one point in the movie Morpheus said this to Neo: "What is real? How do you define real? If you're talking about what you can see, hear, smell and feel then reality is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain." The quote has a huge inpact on the thought and reality. The whole movie is based on reality. What if our world is not our actully "the world". What if there is another world or another world after that?. What is our knowledge or reality?. The qoute above has a great grasp on philosophy and how the ideas in the world differs from person to person. This is why the school board should not ban the useage of this education/interesting/new movie. It has a great infulence on the students and it allows them to think outside the box. It increaces the thinking of the students.
