I believe for a fact that professionals are overpaid. And contrary to prior comments made buy someone in a previous class not just anyone can become a successful teacher.
Yes professional athletes are talented, and they do bring in the crowds. Some people would look at the pressure of being famous and say it is difficult being in the spotlight all the time. I agree, but if you choose to go into that profession you should think before you act. I have heard professional athletes complain about invasion of privacy, but I do not feel sorry for them. They knew, or should have known going into their line of work that they would always be in the public eye. If I was getting paid millions of dollars to tackle somebody 5 or 6 times in a game you could be damn sure I wouldn’t get caught with drugs, hookers, or child pornography. For the amount that these people get paid help for their problems is a phone call away.
Teachers are also in the public eye. They have to watch what they say and do also. High school teachers for example can’t even use the word minority without getting called a racist. Even if the word was not being used racially at all. There is no end to the amount of stress that a teacher goes through in one day of school. I cannot remember the last time my mother has not come out of her classroom crying at that end of the year thinking that she could have done a better job. Even if it was the children in the class who did not want to learn.
This subject hits close to home for me. My brother was close to becoming a professional athlete. My mother has been a teacher for 35 years.
my question for you would be why can’t these people think of something better to do with the millions of dollars that they give to athletes. All the athletes are going to spend the money on is hookers, cocaine and steroids. If we did think about other people than ourselves we wouldn’t pay these athletes so much.
