Chapter 10
The Last Chapter
After burying Clyte, Resda and I helped the soldiers to see that the dragons no longer had a leader and that if they wanted to change, we would give them that chance. With much convincing, most of the dragons joined us. After killing off the few rebellious dragons, Resda and I left Marana to go home. We met up with Brayan, Kiol, and many others. Explaining everything that had happened took us a while, but we eventually got through it.
Resda and I didn't tell anyone anything about anything after the part of beating all the guard dragons. We knew it would be unwise to mention anything about combining our powers, for there are many greedy dragons and unicorns who would use such power for evil. Plus, we didn't want anyone to try to overpower us. We knew it would only cause trouble to tell such a secret, so we kept our mouths shut.
We never did tell the others exactly how Clyte had been killed. Neither of us could bring ourselves to tell the awful tale. No one hounded us to tell it, so we left it alone.
Brayan and I helped to train Resda and Kiol. We trained with them for a year or two until we thought they were strong enough. They grew into very wise and strong unicorns.
After about three years, we moved all of the unicorns and dragons to Marana. If a human ever saw one of us, we would be in big trouble. We figured we could avoid such troubles by simply leaving. So, by packing everything up and taking back the Sparkle, we were able to move to Marana. We left several dragons and unicorns behind to make sure no rebel dragons or unicorns would attack the humans. No one wanted that to happen.
Resda and I knew that more troubles would arise, so we prepared for war. Both of us remembered what Clyte had said about another coming. Neither of us knew exactly what it meant, but we knew better than to ignore his warning.
After a few years of living in Marana, Brayan and I decided to get married. That was the happiest day of my life, and maybe I'll tell you about it sometime. We mostly stayed as humans in our new kingdom in Marana.
After our marriage, we decided our kingdom needed a name. So, we asked everyone in the kingdom to try to come up with a good name for it. We constantly had unicorns and dragons coming into our stone ‘castle', as you might call it, and giving us suggestions on what to name the kingdom. Finally, after much thought and counsel, we held a huge festival which everyone was invited to. At the festival, we announced the name of the kingdom. I bet you're wondering what the name of it was, huh? Well, here is the name we decided on: Maraf Urinc Ae Dran. Maraf Urinc Ae Dran in the ancient dragon language (for the dragons used to have their own language long, long ago) means Many Unicorns and Dragons.
With the kingdom named, a husband, and many dragons and unicorns to keep me company, I settled down and became queen of the unicorns. As long as I live, I will always be known by my friends and my enemies as The Dragon Slayer.
