What is this site about you ask? It's only about the greatest state in the US. It is the place I call home. It is the place that owns my heart and always will.

Anchorage, Alaska. (downtown)

Portage Glacier is about 60 miles south of Anchorage

Able to be seen from Anchorage on a clear day, Mt McKinnley is the highest peak in North America

These are the Franklin Mountians

Kenia Fjords in Kenai, Alaska

These are just some of the places that make visiting Alaska worthwhile. There are more, but there isn't enough webspace to post em.

Now, I have been alot of Questions about Alaska. Such as, "Do you live in an igloo?" "Is it always cold there?" "Is it dark all winter long?".....ect ect. Well here are the answer to some of those questions.

We DO NOT live in igloos. The Eskimos don't even live in them. An igloo is a temporary shelter used in the Arctic when bad weather is approaching.

As far as it being cold there, in the winter time it can get very cold. But we do get warm winter winds call Chinook Winds that are very warm and melt everything. In the summer, mild temps in the 70s and 80s. Just don't get the high humidity like alot of places do. So one can actually enjoy the summer without frying to death.

It isn't dark all winter long unless you go to the North Slope, the very northern most part of Alaska. On the shortest day of the year (Winter Solstice) the average daylight is 3-4 hours. Other wise it is about 6-7 hours. In the summer however, it is just the opposite. Actually......the nights are shorter in the summer. about 3-4 hours of dark and 14-16 hours of daylight. The rest is Dusk or Dawn.

We are just as normal as the rest of the world. The only differance is that we live in a state that has the population of just under a million. That and the state is 3/4 uninhabited and/or unexplored. But one thing that is certain, one would never get bored there. the scenery is just unbelieveable. There is so much to do, Hunting, Fishing Climbing, Hiking, Bike Riding.......ect ect. I have lived in Alaska for about 20 years and still haven't done everything to be done.

It is in my opinion that everyone should see Alaska at least once. But be very careful, IT IS A VERY ADDICTIVE PLACE! I have gone to other states and none of them even compare to Alaska. Oh, and don't feed the bears. LOL.
