A World With Out Petroleum

“A world with out Petroleum,” speculated Jessica White, “I never would have thought.” It had only been a few years since the last reserve of petroleum had been used. Jessica’s family was getting along fine because they had been ready for it, but other families had panicked and in doing so had seriously hurt themselves and some had even been killed.

The Whites had tried to help some of their friends and neighbors by making their back yard into a community garden but some of the people started getting greedy, and the garden was destroyed. After this incident, some of the neighbors decided to make a village type setting. In a group effort, the people built a wooden fortress around the houses, planted gardens, built barns for livestock, and devised a human security system.

Jessica had been impressed at how well the community had turned out. No money was needed because everything belonged to every one. There were no stores either. The only buildings were barns and houses. Everyone did their share of work, tending the crops, caring for livestock, and standing as lookouts. All in all, the community was a successful, organized system, and not a drop of petroleum was needed.
