AQUATIC CREATURES
These are a couple of the Shedd's Eels. I think they are extremely fascinating and wanted a picture.
This is on of two Harbor seals. They were very entertaining to watch.
This is the Shedd's pregnant Beluga cow. She was huge. She shares a tank with an older calf. I'm not sure how old he is, but he was there last March but I can't remember if he was there the previous April. Anywho, he is starting to loose his baby gray color and has two small patches of white that I saw on his back.
TERRESTRIAL CREATURES
There are two cheetahs. They are so beautiful and powerful. They are the fastest land animal but only in bursts. They are also the only cat species that cannot retract their claws. This helps them to get traction on the ground so they don't waste so much energy trying to take off.
AW! I love this picture. This is a cute little Fennec Fox. It lives in the deserts of Africa. Part of the reason I like it so much is because it riminds me of my cat. He's curled up to fit into the "stump", but he's kind of got his feet in the air.
This is the male camel at the Lincoln Park Zoo. He was separated from the females and calves. He didn't seem to like being alone. He walked over to the corner of his habitat and stood in the water looking at the other camels next door who were on the farside of their enclosure from him. The others were all lying down and keeping cool in the heat.
This one is hard to see, but those are bats. It was really dark and a flash would have been pointless, So I did the best I could. The lights dimmed on and off and I tried to get it at a bright moment.
Here is a pair of Oryx. They're really cool. I love the antlers.
This is a cute little Wallaby. While Chalicity and I were stuck going to a zoo to see them, my brother was in Austrilia getting the chance to see them up close. Though it turned out that they really only saw animals one day, but he got to see a koala up close and kangaroos, and wambats too I think.
