This is Ashley after earning her yellow belt. She is with another student "Nathan" and her sensei: Brenda Sciarra

Brenda was Ashleys first Sensei and took her up to her brown belt. Brenda's teaching is very much a part of Ashley.

Ashley earned her blue belt :-)

Ashley had to take a few years off Martial arts because of her Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. She is now back into it and is the weapons instructor at the Full Armour of God Karate school. She earned a 1st place trophy in February 2001 doing a Shao-lin sword Kata. She also earned a 2nd in Sparing.

Ash has now tested and earned her 1st dan Black belt. In June she will test for the National Karate team.

Not everything about Ash is kung fu. :-)

Ashley is now 20 years old and completed 2 years of college. She has had 5 surgeries since she was 17 due to her Ehlers danlos syndrome. The worse was on her leg....hence the poem "Puppys For Sale". I will soon be adding a page with more recent pictures on it. :-)

Her surgeries were done by the Shrine Hospital for Crippled children in St Louis Missouri, our family could never thank them enough for what they have done for our child.

18 years old...

Ashley got to thank the local Shriners...including the Shriner that worked to get her into the Shrine hospital.
