Guppypicks 2006

COMING SOON!!!!!!

Congratulations to JOHNNY DRAMA, the 2005 Guppypicks Champion. Johnny had a tremedous season where he ended up with what may be a record 19,000 points in the pool. Johnny moved into 1st place in Week 5 after going 5-0 for the only time this season. From that pont,Johnny held or tied the top spot for all but Week 11. Johnny suffered only three losing weeks all season, easily offset by five 4-1 weeks. He was a winner in 8 of the last 9 and also added a Super Power bet winner in week sixteen. Add it up along with aggresive betting right through the end and we Johnny gets a well earned championship in his rookie season.

ROWAN23 takes second place. It was a solid season for Rowan. After a slow start, Rowan worked towards the top and reached the Top 5 in week 9. They never left the Top 5 after that and forged ties for first place in Weeks 13 and 15. Along the way, Rowan had one 5-0 week and six at 4-1 along with six losing weeks. They took advantage of a winning Super bet in Week 17 to clinch their status as runner up in this year's pool.

Former champion BORBOR went on a tear the second half of the season and wins 3rd place. After making a brief appearance at # 10 in Week 3, Bor Bor muddled along until finally getting back there in Week 11. But it wasn't until back to back 5-0's in Weeks 15 & 16, coupled with a winning SPB that Bor Bor secured a spot in the winner's circle.

4th place belongs to 1998 champion DAYDREAMER. he was one of the few that got off to a good start back in September, but then slumped and fell as low as # 25 in Week 8. But then Daydreamer caught fire and was as hot as anyone all season. In weeks 9 - 13, he put up three 5-0's and a pair of 4-1 marks. Along with winning his Super Power Bet in Week 13, this got Daydreamer as high as third place. After stumbling in Week 14, he put together 3 staright winners to end the season as the fourth best player in the pool.

CHEFCHRIS moves up one spot to claim 5th place. For Chef, it was a rough first half of the season. Sandwiched between two 4-1's were five losing weeks. But Chris got it going after that with six consecutive winning weeks and an SPB winner in Week 12. It was Week 12 when Chef landed in the Top 10getting as high as fourth place. A 3-2 week to end the season ensured a money spot.

For EVIL BE GONE, they had a great season that ends up with them getting the 6th and final money spot. The only thing keeping them from second place was that they missed their Week 17 Super Power Bet. Otherwise, they had a season as good as anyone but Johnny Drama. Evil had only three losing weeks all year, went 5-0 once and hit 4-1 five times. They hit the Top 10 in Week two and never left. In Week 11, they were alone in first place.

Final stats will be posted after the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Thanks for another great season at Guppypicks and Mark & I look forward to seeing everyone in the Playoff Pool.
