Overview

Welcome to Gastineau Air Service. We are a virtual bush charter service operating in SE Alaska and Western Canada, based on Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2004. Gastineau Air is currently closed and not accepting applications, but may be reopened in the future depending on whether real-world circumstances will allow it, the acceptance of FSX or its successor, and the prevailing interest in organized simulated bush aviation, which as of Fall 2007 appears relatively low.

We have four types of aircraft: 5 de Havilland Beavers, 1 Cessna Caravan, 1 de Havilland Twin Otter, and 2 Found Bush Hawks. There may be a repaint of Mikko's new Maule added sometime down the road. After that, we'll add as we go along. We plan on having three bases of operation: Juneau, AK (our main base); Whitehorse, YT; and Klawock, AK. FBO's have not been built yet, but U.S. mail routes have been established for Juneau and Klawock (once it opens). Mail routes include numerous SPB's (seaplane bases), and by the time the routes including SPB stops begin, scenery for FS2004 providing docks and buildings will be available at the stops.

We are a rather laid back virtual flying service. Jobs are posted in the Flight Openings forum (anyone can post a job, not just the owner), and will be flown on a first-come, first-serve basis. Also, pilots can fly the aforementioned mail routes at their convenience. For more details, please visit the forums.
