Born 3 February 1943, Blythe Katherine Danner's sultry voice and thin elegance are two reasons for her success. Perhaps, another is that she is a lady and excellent actress. Her portrayal of Amanda Bonner in the series Adam's Rib, which also starred Ken Howard, was somewhat reminiscent of the original movie that starred Spencer Tracy, and Katherine Hepburn. The choice of Ms. Danner for the Adam's Rib series was an excellent one, in that her carriage, grace, beauty, and voice added to the appeal of the series, though the content wasn't racy enough for it's time.
Ms. Danner was born in Philadelphia, Pa., to mother Katherine Danner. She was educated at Bard College in New York State. She won a Tony Award for her performance in the The Miser (1969), and another for supporting actress in the film Butterflies are Free. Her acting abilities are sorely underrated. She is coming to the Networks, in a recurring role, for the CBS drama Presidio Med. Her credits include:
Summertree -- 1968
Butterflies are Free -- 1969
Lovin Molly -- Review by someone whose purchased the VHS -- 1974
The Great Santini -- Editorial Review -- 1979
