Distance Vs.Sprint
The difference between sprint races and distance races is that sprint races are much shorter than a long distance race. Sprint races are usually a two or three day race, while long distance races can take up to a week or a week and a half with checkpoints to different villages. A sprint race is a much faster pace race, and a distance race is where the mushers just take their time.
