Sending my family off to new homes is no easy chore.  I usually call and check on them - first daily, then weekly, then monthly, and finally about every three months.  I may have many birds, but each one carved out a spot in my heart for his/her own personal space.  Me, cry when they leave? YOU BET! And again each time it is their turn to come out of their cage and they are no longer there!

Both baby tiels, when weaned, will go to new homes
